New Year's Baby (and lots of them!)

Our friend Fin and her mum are sharing a birthday today, and are hosting a New Years Baby day.

We have had a few babies visit us in the last year. The first newborns came with supermum Stella. She was the sweetest little cat, with such a wonderful soul. This photo shows her with her foster baby Calvin Bunny, a very weak little kitten that she saved with her motherly love. She came to our home with five babies. Unfortunately, one passed away at one day old. We named him Elijah. Our dear friends Siena and Chilli sent us this beautiful photo of a violet in their garden to remember him by.

This photo shows the other four babies; two boys and two girls. We can't tell who is who here, but it shows Ellie, Angus, Pablo and Daisy when they were a day old.This is little Pabs at four weeks, shortly before he passed away. He had such lovely markings, and was a sweet little boy.This is Daisy at four weeks, just before she passed away. She was a tiny girl right from the start, but we tried our best for her and her brother.This is the beautiful Miss Ellie at approximately 8 weeks old. She and Angus went on a big adventure!

This is Angus at 8 weeks.When he and Ellie were ready to find their Forever Home, there were a lot of kittens looking for homes in Townsville. Due to the tropical weather, there doesn't tend to be a kitten season so much as a permanent influx. Meanwhile in Adelaide where they have proper seasons, they had more people wanting kittens than there were kittens to be wanted. So Ellie and Angus formed part of a contingent that flew cross country to find their new homes! Both are now in their Forever Homes.The Hogwarts Kittens were our first Sydney fosters. Harry arrived first, then Hermione the next morning and Ron the next afternoon. Hermione is now in her Forever Home, and is known as Lella. She was named after a kitty that her parents met while holidaying in Bali. Lella and her brother Gomez are learning to get along, and her new mum said she is doing very well.

Harry is looking for his home.Ronny Licious became a permanent member of the household. Fred and Georgie came along nine weeks after the Hogwarts kittens.

Luna was not a newly born kitten when she came to us, but she just had to be included here with the kittens who are almost certainly her siblings. She was approximately four weeks old when she got here.
This is Freddie at five weeks.Georgie still has a pink spot on her head that we put on to tell her apart from Freddie!Luna has been growing really well since we got her flea free and full bellied inside.

We have already received enquiries about Luna and Georgie through our PetRescue listings, which is exciting.

I'm Off!

Thankyou for your purrs. They worked! Harry and I came through our surgeries smoothly, and are recovering really well. My surgical site is on my flank, which is something my foster mum has not seen before. Usually, they are on the belly.The incision is tiny, too.

Guess what else? I have a new family, and they are absolutely lovely!!!!!! They spent well over an hour talking with my foster mum and dad and getting to know me. They were keen to learn a lot about me and my personality, and my foster mum thought that was excellent. They had been to meet a few different kittens at some of the shelters, and were looking for the right kitten rather than a cute kitten. That was very important to my foster parents.

As well as my mum and dad, I am getting a new big brother. His name is Gomez. He is five, ginger, and he is from Canada! My dad (who is Canadian) and my mum met him when they were living on Vancouver Island. When they moved back to Australia, Gomez came with them. And guess what else! The place where I have been living with my foster parents is next door to a suburb named Canada Bay!!!! I think that's more than a coincidence!

Gomez and I will be inside kitties. I will live next door to a national park, with big windows to watch all the birds. That is one of my favourite hobbies, so I am very happy to have some quality vantage points. My dad is a firm believer in the magic of the box, so I will have an endless supply!

Fui sealed the deal for me. It was very important for my mum and dad that they brought a kitten into their home who had some experience with other cats, and seeing how well Fui had prepared me got me some major points. My mum said that Gomez loves everybody and believes everybody loves him, so we are all hoping that this will help make our introduction smooth.

My foster mum said that if she had heard much more from my mum and dad, she would have asked if she could go home with them too! They promised to stay in touch, so my foster mum will be able to let you know my real name and see how pretty I grow up to be!:)

Big Days!

Tomorrow is a really big day for me. I am having my ladygardenectomy, and I have a family that sounds absolutely lovely coming to meet me. My foster mum put our ads up on PetRescue.com.au, and within 5 minutes, she called about me! So my foster mum is in a little bit of shock that it all happened so quickly!

I would really appreciate it if you could send a purr the way of my brother and myself tomorrow. I would love a home for Christmas.

The Many Faces of Harry

Hello my friends. Hermione and I are still trying to find our Forever Homes. Hopefully Suey's Safehouse will get approved for the Pet Rescue site very soon, and then we can get a lot more publicity.Today we went to stay in a crate with our friend Rani (a little black kitten our foster mum introduced you to a few weeks ago) for a few hours while Mum was working. We will keep going with mum so that more people can meet us. Hermione and I are going in for our desexing surgeries in a week- on Christmas Eve! That's not a very fun gift, Santa Paws!

We are disappointed that our first home did not work out. The family had a cat since before their daughter was born, so I guess she developed an immunity early on. Their cat passed away a few months ago, so the intervening time must have been enough for her to lose her resistance and react badly to us. I know that we will find an even better home the second time around! If you know anyone in Sydney who is thinking of adding a kitten to their family, please let them know about us!

Darn

Unfortunately, things didn't work out in Harry and Hermione's new home. One of the daughters proved to be highly allergic, and it was not possible for them to stay. They are now home with us, and we are now back on 'Find a Home' duty. Fingers crossed!

A Brand New Beginning

Today was Hermione and my big day. Here we are waiting in our carrier, in a cage at the vet. Next to us is the little baby Weasley twins. They go to work with mum because they need lots of feeds all the time. There were a lot of interesting sights and smells there! Our new family came to pick us up from the vet so that all the paperwork could be put in order. They had prepared a room especially for us, and got the food and litter our foster mum has been using so things are as smooth as possible for us.

But before the handover happened, we had a last big play with Ronny! (we will spare you the details of our bath and nail clipping. Needless to say, we looked rather pathetic). Hermione had lots of fun with the jellybean that came from the wonderful Casbah Kitten shop that Grrreta sent Fui and Suey.

Thundering herds of elephants is always a super fun activity.

The camera couldn't keep up we were having so much fun!

Ronny's mouse tent made an awesome hideout. It has windows in it that we could spy on each other through.

We were having such fun together! We were very happy to get to meet such lovely kitties and woofies during our time in our foster home. We know our little brother is in good hands with you all:) Our foster mum will get to catch up with us in one, two and three months from now for our vaccinations and desexing, and she will make certain to file a full report:)

Our Big Day

Today, Hermione and I had a really big day. It was not good. We have been to the vet before. That is where the nice vets gave us check ups and we got to meet people who were interested in adding us to their families. It always involved lots of cuddles and smooches.Today, we discovered the real meaning of V-E-T.We got microchipped and vaccinated. Not good. Not good at all. I was better than Hermione though. She even bit our foster mum! The vet did not think Ron should be microchipped or vaccinated, as it would be too much for his little body. Do you know what he got instead? A collar and tag ordered for him. That is way better than needles!

Us Hogwarts kittens wanted to say thankyou for all the lovely comments you left about us finding our Forever Homes. We feel very lucky to have so many good friends:)

Our News!

Harry and I were feeling a little left out in the Forever Home Announcement department.So today, it is our turn. It's our turn because we are going to the same Forever Home!! We will be together!!!! We are going to live with a man, a lady and their teenage daughter.It makes us jump for joy!!! We are going to our new home on Friday afternoon, so that our family can stay home with us and help us get acclimatised to our new environment.As a bonus, here is Fred and Georgie. Georgie has the pink hair. It is from food colouring, so our foster mum can tell them apart. They are rather cute.

Ronny

Ronny's worming tablet didn't produce anything. We'll take him for another check on Monday, to see how he is going. At this point, mum is finding it hard to see the situation clearly so needs an outside eye to watch his progress. He is still playing though, and likes being involved in anything that is going on. The vet said there wasn't much point in seperating him from his siblings, as she didn't think it was viral, and that if it was, they had had a lot of exposure already anyway. From what we understand, she thinks it is probably physiological.

Thinking back, mum believes this all started when we had the 48 hours of Harry and then Ron being sick with vomiting several weeks ago. At that stage, Ron had nearly caught up to the other two in size. While Harry quickly shook it off and got back to the business of growing, we don't think Ron has been 'right' since. He is now about two thirds of the size of his siblings. We've been trying to get some weight on him for a long time, but he is still very thin. We make sure he is getting fair access to the food, and he eats like a champion, so something seems to be happening after the food gets in his body. Hopefully we'll get a better understanding of what is happening soon. The Weasley twins are continuing to grow every second. Their eyes are nearly completely open now. We also have a surprise- turns out that George is actually a Georgie!

Ronnylicious

Mum took the White Light in for a check up today. We have been concerned about his health for a little while now. He had started getting really quiet, and had a couple of bouts of vomitting and diarrhea. He has a tiny little frame, but a big bulbous belly. The vet report doesn't sound too promising. We wormed him again today in the hope it is a worm burden. If not, things mentioned included FIP, and problems with his heart, kidneys or digestive system. Tests are possible, but are expensive and tricky. The vet said that she didn't believe he was thriving.At the moment, we're playing a game of wait and see. We're rather heartbroken, but are praying for a miracle. We love you, Ronnylicious.

Hairbands

They are fun. We very much enjoyed playing with the one we pinched from our foster mum.

Little Ronnylicious didn't quite understand the concept, but he did his best. He is very cute, though. This is the Hogwarts kittens, signing off.

The Big Kittens

That is us! We are getting bigger and stronger every day. I am the biggest of the three of us, although Harry is trying to catch up on me. His eyes have become this lovely green colour. It is rather fetching.

Ron has kept his baby blues. He is still quite a bit smaller than me. P.S. Did you notice me trying to steal Ron's lime light?

One Week!

It's their birthday, and we'll cheer if we want to! The Weasley twins are one week old today!

This is George, showing off his developing waddling skills.The eyes of both boys are right on the verge of starting to open, George's slightly more so. Mum's not using flash on them because they will be quite sensative, and was too silly to take pictures earlier in the day when there was natural light. This is one of the very few almost decent pictures that she got. Fred was kind enough to stay still enough for the teeny tiny openings to show in the picture. It's like stepping back in time looking at these boys. George looks so much like Ron, only with tiny bits of grey. Fred is a ringer for Harry. They are unbelievably cute.

We also wanted to tell you some wonderful news. There is a very nice man at dad's work. He and his fiance have been interested in getting a kitten for a while. They are just waiting on permission from their landlord. The best of the good news is that they are hoping to get a pair! When the permission comes through, they are coming to meet the Hogwarts three. They already love them from their pictures and bios that mum sent. We're excited:)
