My List

Thankyou very much to all the lovely kitties who came by and left me a note for my Gotcha Day. It was very sweet to see them :) I have a list of things that have been going on here:
1. My mum forgot my Gotcha Day.
2. I chomped up as much grass as I could on my trip to the garden.
3. I then threw it up on the rug. That will teach her to remember better!
4. Bertie the Bunny found his Forever Home today.
5. We have a new kitten. Skin and bone has nothing on this little one.

Forever Dad, we love you so very much. Come home safe to us soon.

Three Years

Welcome to my Gotcha Day Party! First, I will do the big reveal of big Freddie. This is him on the bed today in our spare room, having a knead on the blanket. He is looking much more mancatly than last time I saw him. This is Freddie during his last week with us before he went to his Forever Home. You can see how big Lishy was compared to Freddie. This is the boys today. Freddie is on the left. He has done a lot of catching up, and is about the same size as my runty brother. There is 8 weeks between them in age. Freddie is fatter though. The boy loves his food, and he has a very accomodating dad!
Freddie spent his first 24 hours here in the spare room and adjoining bathroom. Lishy snuck in between mum's feet when she was going into his room, and the boys responded really well to each other. I also snuck in, and Freddie didn't have a problem. Mum decided to leave his door open and supervise us, and we have been having lots of fun! Freddie has only ventured as far as the landing, but is really enjoying having buddies to play with. Suey is just ignoring us all, as usual, although she has had a couple of nose kisses with Freddie. (I thought I would add, mum only lets us mix with Freddie because she knows he is a strictly indoor cat who has had all his vaccinations. He comes to the clinic mum works in for his check ups. If she didn't know his health status, he would have been quarantined in the same way shelter foster kittens are). Mum and dad went out for a couple of hours today. When they left, Freddie was asleep in the wardrobe in his room. When they got home, Freddie was still asleep in the wardrobe!Today, I have been living with my mum and dad for three years. This is the first photo of me that wasn't blurry or of my bum.Mum thinks I was a gorgeous wee boy, and I tend to agree ;) This is me and my first toy, Marty Mouse. You might remember Marty as the intrepid reporter who travelled between Townsville and Sydney with mum and dad last year. I settled in really well, and was wandering around like I owned the place within an hour. Mum is very grateful to my foster mum, her friend Kate, who raised me to be a confident, well adjusted babycat.
Now, it's time to party! We've got all sorts of stinky goodness and Temptations, so dig in! :)
Love Fui.

Georgie has Left the Building

Today was my Gotcha Day! I was picked up in the prettiest of pink carriers. I also have to show you something my foster mum is very impressed with. It is the scar from my spay surgery. Can you see it? I'll get a bit closer for you. The vet who did my operation is a specialist in microsurgery. The scar in on my side, and it is teeny tiny. It's size means it was a less invasive surgery, and I will recover much quicker. Hermione also had the same tiny scar on her side. It was the first time our foster mum had seen the scar on the side, and the first time she had ever seen one so little!I also have some fun news to tell you. My new family really liked the name Luna for a little white kitten. So that is going to be my name!I was also a milestone kitten. I was the first kitten adopted that had the Suey's Safehouse logo on their paperwork. My foster mum is very much a Photoshop beginner, but she was happy with it. The kitty is from a photo of Suey. Foster Mum's friend Greta (the lady who saved Harry, Ron and Hermione from the blue stuff on the day they were found) has suggested adding some paw prints to the bottom, so she will work on that over the weekend. Thankyou for being my friends!:)
Love Georgie.

It's My Gotcha Day!

And it coincides with our 300th post! How's that for a funny coincidence!?

This is one of the very first photos ever taken of me. Mum thinks I look like baby Simba from the Lion King. My first day home was interesting. In the car, I was really frightened, and drooled a lot. As soon as I was allowed out to look around, Mum and Dad think I decided that this place was ok by me. I was cool as a cucumber! I sniffed around a lot, then got to play play playing! It's possible I was just trying to show off my spotty tummy, too.
This was my first ever favourite toy. His name is Marty. Marty Mouse.
Marty and I got along very well. I still have him, although he is looking a little raggedy now. Can you see how little I am in this photo?
This is how big and strong and mancatly I am now!

For a little bit of perspective, this is my first photo with my mum.And this is a photo of us taken in February. Our heads are nearly the same size!If you would like to read more about how I got to my Forever home, Suey and I wrote a post about it .

I got some good news for my Gotcha Day. Mum, Dad, Suey and I have a home in Sydney!

Also, because I am such a good foster brother, I will let you know what Jorgia, our friend at the shelter, told Mum about Stella. She came through her surgery really well, and is being incredibly friendly to everyone. She is also trying to look after the kittens that are there. Stella and Jasper were housed together in the same crate while recovering, because they are friends. When one of the nurses went into do one of the regular checks in the recovery area, Jasper was sleeping ontop of Stella, and they were both purring. Cute!

Happy Gotcha Day, Dancer!!!

Miss Pretty has found her Forever Home! What's more, she did so despite us having had torrential rain for the last 4 days, at the same time as two kind tides. Given the number of roads that have been flooded, and the number of people choosing to stay at home, she did very well indeed! Clearly, her lure was irresistable :)

My eye is looking better today. Fingers crossed it will continue!

I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the butt print in my nap garden, which has sadly been washed away. I spent many hours creating him, he was my close companion. Once the ground dries out, I will go to work on butt print V2.0, but I will always remember my first one!

We're not babies anymore

Sometimes it is funny to think how little we used to be. We used to be babies, you guys!

This is me on my Gotcha Day in May 2007. Mum and Dad were amazed at how quickly I settled in. I went for a bit of a wander to check out my new digs, and then got to playing! I had one accident, and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Now, I'm a giant mancat. For a while, mum and dad think I was unaware of how big I was getting, because I would still try to squeeze into spots that I no longer fit.

This is Suey on her Gotcha Day, in June 2007. We are from the same litter, but the vet didn't believe it. I am heaps bigger and stronger than she is! She is a bit more nervous than I was, and took a bit longer to settle in. We loved being together again, and would play non-stop.

This video is from the day we first wore our collars. It was a funny feeling!
Guess what else. We are beyond the 10 day period we could have been harbouring the cat flu, and are still showing no symptoms! Mum is so happy she can't begin to say. She is also thankful beyond belief that we have stayed up to date on our F4 and FIV vaccines. The vet says the F4 vaccine was the one that safeguarded us.
Have a lovely week everybuddy:)
