Our New Garden

When Dad saw the sorry state of the cat grass and nip that mum tried to grow from seeds, he knew there was no other option but to make an emergency trip to the nursery. He is a wise man, my dad. He came home with a great selection for us!
This is the first type of cat grass. And this is the second type of cat grass. It is a bit thicker than the first type. Mum thinks it might be a different type of grass, but she hasn't got the greenest thumb, so isn't really sure. She is pretty certain that the cat grass she has been trying to grow is a different type, as it is much thinner and finer. This is some White Cat Mint. The tag says that it is great for a natural high! So Fui and I are planning some fun times ahead.Mum and dad also found this cat pack. It has two stalks of cat grass, cat mint and cat nip!

Our pots are set up next to our food, and we like having a nibble after dinner. The moment mum brought the plants in, we were right over to them, having a great big sniff and nomming on down, so she thinks we've missed having some greenery. We also have two little catgrass pots in our front window, and two in our bathroom. Mum really wanted to try and bring a bit of outside in, because she knows how much we loved our garden. Hopefully these plants will survive for a little while... mum! MOL!

I hope you have a greenery filled week:)

Welcome!

We have now spent our first 24 hours in our new home, and we must say, we're pretty happy with it.

We have discovered that the new woolen duvet mum and dad got for chilly Sydney is supremely cozy.
In Townsville, we could get away with just a sheet on the bed. It's not sheet only weather down here! To inspire our dreams, the cover has birdies on it! Nom nom nom. I have discovered a great hiding spot for naps. Dad arranged the furniture in the spare bedroom so I would have 'steps' up there. Great plan, Dad!:)We are also liking these big windows. The trees outside were full of birds, and Fui enjoyed watching them. Mum is going to set up our ham-micks in front of the windows, so we can have our own tv.We have had lots of fun driving mum bananas by playing Thundering Herd of Elephants up and down the stairs. Sometimes she could swear fat Fui is rolling, rather than running. Hahaha!
So far, we have been good at not charging for the doors. Mum and dad think the long time at the border will have helped us in our transition to indoor cats. Mum is trying to grow some cat grass and cat nip- from seeds!- to bring the outside in for us. We hope our sensible dad goes to the nursery and gets some that is already grown. Otherwise, we may never see greenery again... MOL!

We're Home!!!!!!

We arrived home about an hour ago. We have both had some food, big drinks, and used the litterbox. We were a bit unsettled when we first got home, I had a bit of a cry and Suey hid under the couch for half an hour. Suey has climbed up the new scratching post, and I have been shooed off the bench twice, so we're starting to chill out. Mum has closed up the bedrooms for now while we get used to downstairs, and has put all of our beds and blankets around the lounge and kitchen, which she had sealed up in plastic bags before we moved. She is hoping that having our smells around will help us relax. Suey is now chilling out on top of the cat tree, while I am patrolling the house. I think Suey is trying to stay close to mum.

At the moment, mum is giving us some space from the flashy beast, not wanting to stress us anymore. We hope to have some pictures up tomorrow to show you our new house. We can't wait to catch up with all our friends, and see what you have been up to!:)

Julie, the lovely lady who looked after us, said that we are some of her favourite ever guests:) Hooray for us!:)

Compare and Contrast

In an official "we're out of ideas' post, here is a nice little compare and contrast post.
Exhibit 1: When Fui, the gentle giant, met Calvin Bunny.

Exibit 2: When Suey, the hissy kitty, met Tillie Tuxedo-Rex.Hahahahaha!

Fui and Suey go on their plane ride tomorrow afternoon. We are a little bit nervous about it. If you could please send a purr their way, we'd really appreciate it.

International Cats in Boxes Day

and have declared today International Cats in Boxes Day.Well, that is certainly something we can get behind!

From the first night I came to my Forever Home, I showed myself to be a box afficionado. This is me inside the box castle Dad made. I don't restrict myself to just sitting in boxes. I am also a fan of sitting on boxes. It's great for that slight lift to your vantage point. As a box loving kitty, recieving packages is one of my favourite times in the world. I also like it when fizzy drinks are purchased in bulk! Fui is also a box fan, though not to the same degree as me. It's probably because he's a little bit fat. He is of the belief that boxes are great for launching ambushes. I have enjoyed Cats in Boxes Day, and will look forward to seeing everybody else's posts:)Guess what else! We have finally gotten the stupid man out of our house. It is being thoroughly cleaned and fixed up, and then our things will be moved in on Tuesday. On Wednesday Fui and I are hopping on the plane and coming home! Whoohoooooo!:)

Hamming it Up

Is there a better way to while away the hours than snoozin' in the comfiest of Ham-micks?

Perhaps one better thing. And that is snoozin' in the comfiest of ham-micks after learning that Jasper Bunny is tonight in his Forever Home!!!!! Have lots of love, fun and laughter there, you little tailless wonder:)

It's My Gotcha Day!

I have been part of my family for two years. Mum and dad say bringing me home was the best decision they have ever made for our family. They love me very much, and believe I have made their lives and Fui's life better than they could have imagined:) They believe it was fated for me to be part of their family. They wanted to get two kittens initially, but thought it better to wait and see how they went with one kitty first. When they took Fui back in for his booster vaccinations a couple of weeks later, I was the only kitty left in the adoption area, me, his little sister and littermate! I raced to the side of the area, and Fui was trying to get out of the carrier to me. The vet said to go ahead and put Fui in with me, and we played like we'd never played before! That was it for mum. I was Fui's sister, and I was her little girl, and I was going home with them! Dad never stood a chance. MOL!

This photo is of me on my first night home, at my scruffiest best. I'm in the cardboard castle that my dad made. He is very clever, and I had lots of fun in there.

This is a photo taken a few minutes later. I switched between scruffy and stunning with great ease:) Fui and I were ecstatic to be back together again, and have been hard to seperate ever since. He has been a great brother, looking out for me and being my friend. The picture below is one of mum's favourite photos of us. She has it on her nightstand, even now when she and dad are travelling. She thinks I look like a cute little pixie, and Fui looks like a stately lion (like Parker's Seigfried and Roy!). I love to look after Fui, and see it as an important duty to keep him shiney and clean. I think he rather likes it too.
Playing is my favourite thing to do, though! If it can be whapped, I will whap it. I have also grown from a scruffy babycat to a glamorous and pretty ladycat, if I do say so myself. Mum also thinks that if her heart looked like a kitty, it would look just like me:)

I know my mum is sad we aren't together on my gotcha day, but I know that our family will be back together very soon, and we can all have snuggles together:)

The Purrfect Angle

When I was an outside cat, I loved to scratch on the trees. My favourite thing was to stand on my angled branch, looking downwards, and rip in. So in addition to a good tall post for Fui, mum has been looking for a good angled post for me. This is the one that she has chosen-
This photo is of the Purrfect test cat Mickey, the 20 pound tabby, ripping in the exact way I like to do. He looks like he is enjoying it! I think I am going to enjoy befriending the Purrfect Angle!:)
Unfortunately, it looks like I have another wait. Remember how we told you about the goofball man who was supposed to have cleared out of our house by Tuesday the 9th? He didn't turn up to the meeting to hand back his keys. So it looks like we have another delay. Mum and Dad have been told to prepare for another week in limbo. That means another 2 and a half weeks from now. It will bring our jail sentance up to 5 weeks, which mum is not happy about. We will find out on Friday afternoon how things are going, and fingers crossed things will be going quicker than scheduled.
We did have a big laugh though at the idea of goofball man waking to find out that Mickey, Georgia and Tillie had pooped on his pillow, only to get out of bed to find himself being bunnykicked by Cory and sneezed on by Bajas! It was a satisfying thought!:P

Exciting Discoveries

Mum and Dad found a cool new shop for us in Sydney. It is called , and is in Bondi. Mum was excited to be there, because they had good quality cat products. She was used to pet shops in Townsville that only had most things for dogs, with a couple of mice for all the cats.
In preparing to help us become indoor cats, mum wanted to get us a good quality scratching post, and one that FatFui couldn't pull over with too much ease! When Fui stands up to scratch, he is very tall (mum and dad call him the toddler sometimes). Our tree is good, but the posts on it are a bit short for Fui to really stretch out. She scoured the internets for a retailer with the SmartCat post, and found it at Bowhouse.
There are two ladies who run Bowhouse, a cat lady and a woofie lady. Mum and Dad got talking to the cat lady about our incarceration, and when she heard about our stay in jail, she threw some of these bonito flakes in with the post! What a nice lady:)

Speaking of our incarceration... the man who was supposed to have vacated our new house on the 1st of June failed to do so. The new 'GET OUT!' date was today (the 9th), but mum is yet to hear whether that has happened. Then the repairmen have to come in a fix some things, as the man wasn't the most careful tenant. So we have been delayed another week. Fui and I are now booked to fly down on the 19th of June, instead of this week. What a drag! We are looking on the bright side though, and Fui and I are happy with Julie at the cat hotel. Hopefully, we will hear that everything is going to plan, and we will all be back together again quickly.

Tropical Cats

A couple of weeks ago, Mum and Dad went to a cat show in Townsville. It was the first one they have been to, and they enjoyed it lots.

This handsome kitty is Mufasa. He is a Maine Coon, and is pretty famous in the northern parts. He wins lots of awards. This is another Maine Coon, but we're not sure what his name is. Look at those whiskers!
This mancat is an Oriental shorthair. He reminds us of Luxor. This kitten-cat is Caesar. He is a Maine Coon too, and is only 6 months old! He is as heavy as Fui already, and Fui is a fat cat! Caesar won the best kitten competition. He is a very laid back kitty, and has a very gentle nature. His daddy is friends with my Daddy! They go to work together.
This is a Persian ladycat. She won her competition, too. I think it must be because she is a torti. Torties rule!:)
Mum and Dad talked about entering Fui in the household pets competition because he is such a cool cat, but decided to try and keep stressful situations to a minimum. They didn't even think of entering me. They didn't want to run the risk of having a nice old judge clawed to within an inch of her life. MOL!

Uh Oh

We got a massive shock before we went to the kitty hotel. You'd think it would be a time for rest and relaxation, right? WRONG! Instead, we were boxed up and shoved in the car! Our mean mum wanted us to have a thorough check up before we went into the cat hotel and on our plane ride. We also had our vaccinations updated.
We arrived at the vet knowing that this was not going to be a good day. This is so not what we were up for. Dr. Linda was the vet on duty that day. At least she is nice. She gave us Greenies in between torturing us.
We are both in good health, with strong hearts and lungs and a perfect temperature (although we could have lived without knowing that!). We are both a little bit fat though. We had a food change four months ago, and mum thinks our weight gain is related to that. So we're on a diet!

Suey got dad good when he was getting her out of the carrier. Our doctor nearly had to treat him! Hahaha! Notice how we swapped carriers halfway through? Suey wanted to be back with her platypus.

We'll have two weeks in the kitty hotel to plan our revenge. We're going to make it good!
