Hamming it Up

Is there a better way to while away the hours than snoozin' in the comfiest of Ham-micks?

Perhaps one better thing. And that is snoozin' in the comfiest of ham-micks after learning that Jasper Bunny is tonight in his Forever Home!!!!! Have lots of love, fun and laughter there, you little tailless wonder:)

Marty's Trip to the Shelter

We have the internets again! Hooray! We are looking forward to catching up on our visiting, and seeing what our friends have been up to :) It is a pre-paid expensive service, so we wont get to do much visiting until we're in our proper home, but it sure is better than extortionate hotel rates!
On the day before we packed up our house, I visited the shelter. Guess who I ran into! Little Miss Tillie Tuxedo, and Mister Jasper Bunny. Tillie and Ruby were hanging out together on the bed. The lady hopes they are adopted together, they are the best of friends.
Jasper Bunny was very interested in me. I think he could smell Fui.

The lady has spoken to Julie at the cat hotel, and Fui and Suey are doing really well. They are eating up all of their food, and making friends with Julie. Fui is also making friends with another kitty, named Merlin. They are in hotel rooms next to each other. There have been delays with the Sydney house, so she and the man can't fly them down for another 2 weeks (a week longer than they originally thought). They can't wait to see their babies again!

P.S. A pink mocktail is a non-alcoholic cocktail. Fui and Suey's daddy likes the pink fruity ones.

Introducing...

Hi. My name is Marty. Marty Mouse. While Fui and Suey are locked up, I'm taking over round here. I started my day by rounding up those pesky kittens. Little Calvin Bunny needs his bits snipped so he can go up for adoption, and the twins need to go to another foster home where they will get nice and fat.
We asked about silly Stella, and found out that she has been under vet treatment, after pulling her stitches out. She has put her recovery back a while, but should be fine. I squeeked loudly, hoping she would hear my positive thoughts.
On a more positive note, doesn't young Mr. Bunny have beautiful eyes? The lady won't stop going on about how pretty they are. We also saw Tillie, Ruby and Jasper. Jasper was playing like a crazy cat and Tillie raced over straight away to say hello (which made the lady's heart skip a beat or two), while Ruby was snoozin'.
Once I had the kittens safely ensconced at the shelter, it was time to go for a ride with my friend Fui and his sister Suey. Fui cried the whole way to the Kitty hotel, like a really manly mancat. I didn't make a peep! Julie was very nice to them, and they seemed to relax quite well. The lady was sad to leave them, though, and can't wait to see them again.Tonight, I'm enjoying having the house to myself while I prepare for my road trip. I hear there are some big things in my near future!

It's My Gotcha Day!

And it coincides with our 300th post! How's that for a funny coincidence!?

This is one of the very first photos ever taken of me. Mum thinks I look like baby Simba from the Lion King. My first day home was interesting. In the car, I was really frightened, and drooled a lot. As soon as I was allowed out to look around, Mum and Dad think I decided that this place was ok by me. I was cool as a cucumber! I sniffed around a lot, then got to play play playing! It's possible I was just trying to show off my spotty tummy, too.
This was my first ever favourite toy. His name is Marty. Marty Mouse.
Marty and I got along very well. I still have him, although he is looking a little raggedy now. Can you see how little I am in this photo?
This is how big and strong and mancatly I am now!

For a little bit of perspective, this is my first photo with my mum.And this is a photo of us taken in February. Our heads are nearly the same size!If you would like to read more about how I got to my Forever home, Suey and I wrote a post about it .

I got some good news for my Gotcha Day. Mum, Dad, Suey and I have a home in Sydney!

Also, because I am such a good foster brother, I will let you know what Jorgia, our friend at the shelter, told Mum about Stella. She came through her surgery really well, and is being incredibly friendly to everyone. She is also trying to look after the kittens that are there. Stella and Jasper were housed together in the same crate while recovering, because they are friends. When one of the nurses went into do one of the regular checks in the recovery area, Jasper was sleeping ontop of Stella, and they were both purring. Cute!

Tiny Tabby Tuesday

Little Ellie and Angus have been developing tabby markings on their faces. Ellie is also developing a silly sense of humour. Here she is making the water bowl her new chair. She tipped all the water out, first!
Angus is a little bit lighter than his sister. He likes to nap on the bottom of the scratching post. The other night, the tiny tabby met the huge tabby. They were both very well behaved. He is very interested in these tiny kitties.
Stella continued to be a wonderful mother to Ellie and Angus, and Calvin, until the moment mum packed her up with Jasper to take her to the shelter. When Calvin was not doing well, mum thought he was going to pass away. She believes Stella and her kindness saved his life. He is now a strong, happy, healthy little boy who we are sure will go on to find a wonderful home. Mum and dad were sad to have to take Stella back, but think it was the right time. Happy Tuesday to you:)

A Big Day

Today is a big day for us! I am 1.2kg, and that means I'm getting neutered!
But it is not just a big day for me. Stella is going back, too. Ellie and Angus are pretty much weaned, and Stella prefers to spend her time away from them. Mum feels it is time. The babies race around, play, eat really well, and use the litter box like champions. They are 9 weeks old tomorrow!
My brother Calvini Bunnini (what can I say, it stuck!) tipped the scale at just on a kilo on Sunday, and Ellie and Angus are both over 500 grams. Angus is approx 20g heavier than his sister. Our foster mum is sad to see us go, but believes we will go on to find wonderful homes. She says seeing Stella learn to be a mum was one of the best experiences she has ever had.And it wouldn't have been a complete fostering experience without the little champagne tailless Bunny boy!:)
Love Jasper.

Slow News Day

Fui: So, Suey, have you got anything interesting going on?
No? Me neither. Unless used tissues count. I've seen a MILLION of them. I know. It's so yuck! I know where there might be some goings on going on. Hey! Jasper!Jasper: I have news! I have news! I went in for my snip of de doodahs day on Tuesday, but I was 20grams too light. I was going to complain of discrimination against the tailless, but I'm really not a very political Bunny.
So I've spent the last few days running wild with Calvin, Stella and the little fuzzy babies! And it is so much fun. They are easier to wrestle than Ruby and Tillie, who were pretty dirty fighters.
I think my news beats Fui's tissue news anyday!:)

Playtime with Tillie

We've been having lots of fun playing games! I like to play Top of the Mountain on the couch. Sometimes, I even get to throw great big shadows on the roof, with the flash of the flashy beast helping me out. Jasper and Ruby spend lots of time racing about, playing THoE. Ruby is in mid-gallop here!
Stella is a bit naughty in her playtime. She fell in love with mum's boots, which aren't really a toy. Now those boots are hidden, because they don't go to well with clawrs!
Did you get to have some fun playtime today?
Love Tillie.
P.S. There was a question yesterday about whether our foster mum will continue to foster when she moves to Sydney. The short answer is- hopefully! The organisation mum fosters for here has a shelter in Sydney, and there are a couple of smaller organisations she has found. It will depend what kind of home the live in, and how Fui and Suey settle. That is especially so if they are transitioning to inside kitties. At the moment, we have plenty of space. We've got the dedicated kitten room, and an additional spare bedroom that mum comandeered for Stella (it was Dad's store room- ha!). We also have a spare bathroom that mum can use as a quarantine area if need be. That is where she and Polly Smitten-Kitten spent a couple of nights when Polly was very sick. It also means Fui and Suey have plenty of space to go to when they need a break from the kitten crazies.
Foster Mum has been looking at places in Sydney with at least two bedrooms, but as they will be living in the city, space is at a premium. It's also unlikely they'll get a proper spare bathroom. As they are hoping to add a human kitten to the equation over the next posting, it might not be doable. But foster mum is really hoping it will be! The crate experiment with Stella, Calvin, Ellie and Angus has given her hope!:)

We Are So SMRT

We love to read! Books also make for super fun climbing things.
And help us find good hiding places.
Do you think we can learn by osmosis?
From Jasper and Calvin.

Kitten TV

It's Tillie here! How are you?! It's an interesting place in the crate downstairs. We got to meet a really big cat!!! He is ginourmous, and I went 'rrrrrrrraaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr' just a little bit. I watched him a lot while he was snoozin'. He doesn't seem as big then.
My foster mum is happy to be able to watch us littlies get some naps in. Usually when we are in the kitten room, we get super excitable when she comes in. So it's cute to be able to watch us just relax:) She caught little Ruby in the middle of a dream. Notice how I said 'little'? I can do that because I am the biggest now! You can see Ruby doing a bit of dream twitching in this video.

I think Fui might be a bit scared of us. We do look pretty scary and intimidating I guess, so I can understand. He gets braver when we're having naps though. I wonder if he thinks we smell good? Hahaha! I think I caught him having a bit of a giggle at Jasper. He has a bit of a poop problem where bits of it stick to his hair, and he doesn't clean it. He got a haircut today- on his butt! Hahahaha! His little tail stub is bald!! Ruby got a trim, too. I didn't, because I ensure I look immaculate after using the facilities.

I think I'm gonna like it here:)

Moving Time

Tillie and the Bunny family have moved downstairs. They now stay in the crate, in the living room. They are allowed out for lots of supervised play during the day.

This is for two reasons. The Bunnys get very nervous around new people, so mum is hoping to get them used to new sights and sounds. We want them to get used to what it is like living in a normal home. Secondly, the Bunny boys have decided the world is their litterbox. We're hoping they wont have much choice in the crate. If they get to the adoption cages without knowing how to use the box, it wont be good.

Tillie is still having a bit of a cry, but we think she will get used to it.
I'm still deciding what I think of it all! I'm sleeping on one of Dad's stinky t-shirts here. He is going to be home for the Easter long weekend, so we'll have to get him to stink up some more clothes:) MOL!

Theatre Thursday

Our Dad asked us to put up some videos of the fosters, in particularly the Bunnys and Tillie, so he could get a better idea of what they are like. As we are nothing if not accomodating, we would like to present the following for your consideration:

Stella's girls in 'Two Screaming Two Week Olds Learn To Walk'

Tillie Tuxedo-Saurus Rex in 'Play Tillie, Play!'

Jasper & Calvin Bunny and Meryl Oscar in 'Run Bunny!'

Jasper, Calvin and Ruby Bunny and Meryl Oscar in 'Run Bunny! Part 2'.

More Introductions!

We have another new litter!

This little lad is Calvin Bunny. Isn't he a darling?! He has something that his brother and sister are missing. A tail! This young lady is Ruby Bunny (thanks for the suggestion, Poppy Q!).

And this young man is Jasper Bunny.

The litter originally had 5 members, but two have gone out with another foster family. Of the five, there were 4 boys and 1 girl (just like the Oscars!). The other two boys were 1 ginger with tail, and one champagne without a tail. We think one of the parents may have been a Manx, which is quite exciting. It was a shame to split them up, but we also have to be careful not to get too many in the house, as that would just make things too difficult, and prevent any of them recieving decent socialisation. One of our goals with the kittens it to help them become outgoing, and confident in approaching people coming to look at the kittens. Mum was thrilled to see that Sally was running over to say hello to people, when she visited her this morning.
You might wonder why Mickey, Heath and Penny did not run up to the sides of the cages. For one simple reason- they were all adopted yesterday! Wahoooooo!!!! :)
Tillie is happy to have some young playful kittens to have fun with, as Meryl is a bit reserved.
Although she has a unique way of showing it! Hahaha!

We hope you have a wonderful week!
