James and Charlie

This little lad here is James Bond. He was a suave, smooth little boy with a ready made suit.
This is his brother, Charlie Brown. He was a sweet, goofy baby mancat.
I decided their post should be together, as they so often were. They really were inseperable.
They were very daring, James the most of all. Charlie and Pipi would often follow at a safe distance while he got up to his crazy adventures.
They thought I was pretty cool. I like to think I taught them a lot about the fine art of hanging out.
Both boys found happy Forever Homes. It was nice knowing you guys!:)

P.S. In addition to introducing a little tuxie boy, I have good news about a little tuxie girl. Tillie is in her Forever Home!:) Enjoy it, little girl! You sure have earned it:)

A Bit of Bad News

The hard part of being a foster mum is when things don't work out. The lovely Miss Tillie has been re-listed for adoption. It turns out she was not adopted, as I had believed when she was removed from the adoption listings. The shelter was hit by cat flu, and Tillie caught a dose. She went out on foster until she had recovered, and is now back waiting for her Forever Family to find her.The dear little girl has been in the shelter for such a long time now. Knowing what a star she is, and how much more she deserves, it is very hard not to pick up the phone and get her flown down. If only we were living in our own home, and not depending on the permission of others!

Sweetheart, we love you. We are sending you the biggest, deepest, rumbliest purrs that we can muster.

Because of the cat flu, any kittens on foster were kept out of the shelter until the outbreak had been dealt with. Ellie and Angus are both still on foster, and will probably stay out for another week or two until the shelter is good and clear. We are looking forward to seeing a photo of them now they're growing up!:)

Tillie Day!

Yes! Little Tillie is in her wonderful new Forever Home! Wahoooooo!!!!!!! We are very excited for her. It has been a very long time coming. We celebrated by nomming heartily. You may notice that our Nemo placemat has been replaced. He just got too little for our big appetites. Now we have supersized ones from Ikea (did we mention we love Ikea?). Mum says we're easier to clean up after now.
Have a wonderful weekend:)

Sillie Tillie Billie

Do you remember this lovely little ladycat? It's Tillie Tuxedo-Rex. She is still waiting at the shelter for her Forever Family to come and find her. As well as being cute as a button, Tillie is a lovely girl with a gigantic personality. We are hoping that if we ask our friends to purr for her, it will help draw her family to her, and get her into the loving home that she so deserves.
We love you Tillie! Purrrrrrrrr! Purrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
Edit---
This was supposed to go up much earlier, but we've been having lots of trouble with our auto posting. Is anyone else having this problem, or know what we are doing wrong?

Compare and Contrast

In an official "we're out of ideas' post, here is a nice little compare and contrast post.
Exhibit 1: When Fui, the gentle giant, met Calvin Bunny.

Exibit 2: When Suey, the hissy kitty, met Tillie Tuxedo-Rex.Hahahahaha!

Fui and Suey go on their plane ride tomorrow afternoon. We are a little bit nervous about it. If you could please send a purr their way, we'd really appreciate it.

Marty's Trip to the Shelter

We have the internets again! Hooray! We are looking forward to catching up on our visiting, and seeing what our friends have been up to :) It is a pre-paid expensive service, so we wont get to do much visiting until we're in our proper home, but it sure is better than extortionate hotel rates!
On the day before we packed up our house, I visited the shelter. Guess who I ran into! Little Miss Tillie Tuxedo, and Mister Jasper Bunny. Tillie and Ruby were hanging out together on the bed. The lady hopes they are adopted together, they are the best of friends.
Jasper Bunny was very interested in me. I think he could smell Fui.

The lady has spoken to Julie at the cat hotel, and Fui and Suey are doing really well. They are eating up all of their food, and making friends with Julie. Fui is also making friends with another kitty, named Merlin. They are in hotel rooms next to each other. There have been delays with the Sydney house, so she and the man can't fly them down for another 2 weeks (a week longer than they originally thought). They can't wait to see their babies again!

P.S. A pink mocktail is a non-alcoholic cocktail. Fui and Suey's daddy likes the pink fruity ones.

Introducing...

Hi. My name is Marty. Marty Mouse. While Fui and Suey are locked up, I'm taking over round here. I started my day by rounding up those pesky kittens. Little Calvin Bunny needs his bits snipped so he can go up for adoption, and the twins need to go to another foster home where they will get nice and fat.
We asked about silly Stella, and found out that she has been under vet treatment, after pulling her stitches out. She has put her recovery back a while, but should be fine. I squeeked loudly, hoping she would hear my positive thoughts.
On a more positive note, doesn't young Mr. Bunny have beautiful eyes? The lady won't stop going on about how pretty they are. We also saw Tillie, Ruby and Jasper. Jasper was playing like a crazy cat and Tillie raced over straight away to say hello (which made the lady's heart skip a beat or two), while Ruby was snoozin'.
Once I had the kittens safely ensconced at the shelter, it was time to go for a ride with my friend Fui and his sister Suey. Fui cried the whole way to the Kitty hotel, like a really manly mancat. I didn't make a peep! Julie was very nice to them, and they seemed to relax quite well. The lady was sad to leave them, though, and can't wait to see them again.Tonight, I'm enjoying having the house to myself while I prepare for my road trip. I hear there are some big things in my near future!

Slow News Day

Fui: So, Suey, have you got anything interesting going on?
No? Me neither. Unless used tissues count. I've seen a MILLION of them. I know. It's so yuck! I know where there might be some goings on going on. Hey! Jasper!Jasper: I have news! I have news! I went in for my snip of de doodahs day on Tuesday, but I was 20grams too light. I was going to complain of discrimination against the tailless, but I'm really not a very political Bunny.
So I've spent the last few days running wild with Calvin, Stella and the little fuzzy babies! And it is so much fun. They are easier to wrestle than Ruby and Tillie, who were pretty dirty fighters.
I think my news beats Fui's tissue news anyday!:)

Cat Trees

Cat trees are very fun. We like to climb up and play on them. The hanging ball is our favourite part!
It lets us practice our balance and co-ordination.
And we can play lots of games:)
Love Tillie and Ruby.
P.S. We went back to have our ladygardenectomies today. Soon we will hopefully find our Forever homes. We wonder if they will have cat trees?

Playtime with Tillie

We've been having lots of fun playing games! I like to play Top of the Mountain on the couch. Sometimes, I even get to throw great big shadows on the roof, with the flash of the flashy beast helping me out. Jasper and Ruby spend lots of time racing about, playing THoE. Ruby is in mid-gallop here!
Stella is a bit naughty in her playtime. She fell in love with mum's boots, which aren't really a toy. Now those boots are hidden, because they don't go to well with clawrs!
Did you get to have some fun playtime today?
Love Tillie.
P.S. There was a question yesterday about whether our foster mum will continue to foster when she moves to Sydney. The short answer is- hopefully! The organisation mum fosters for here has a shelter in Sydney, and there are a couple of smaller organisations she has found. It will depend what kind of home the live in, and how Fui and Suey settle. That is especially so if they are transitioning to inside kitties. At the moment, we have plenty of space. We've got the dedicated kitten room, and an additional spare bedroom that mum comandeered for Stella (it was Dad's store room- ha!). We also have a spare bathroom that mum can use as a quarantine area if need be. That is where she and Polly Smitten-Kitten spent a couple of nights when Polly was very sick. It also means Fui and Suey have plenty of space to go to when they need a break from the kitten crazies.
Foster Mum has been looking at places in Sydney with at least two bedrooms, but as they will be living in the city, space is at a premium. It's also unlikely they'll get a proper spare bathroom. As they are hoping to add a human kitten to the equation over the next posting, it might not be doable. But foster mum is really hoping it will be! The crate experiment with Stella, Calvin, Ellie and Angus has given her hope!:)

It Never Rains...

But it pours with these bebbehs! I had to take little Ellie to the vet today. Stella got a bit fed up with her the other day and took a swipe at her, cutting the skin beside her back knee open. I'd been doing my best to keep it clean, and it looked to be healing quite well. When I checked on it again this morning, it was pretty clear that an infection was developing.
So she went off to see Dr. Paul. He cleaned the cut out, gave Ellie an antibiotic injection and a course of antibiotic tablets, and quickly fell in love with her. She was a very good girl, and didn't even cry with the needle. She weighed in at 260 grams. It is a little small for her age, but Dr. Paul believes she is also very strong, and developing well. Her teeth are looking good, and he was happy with her activity and attention levels and co-ordination skills. Dr. Paul gave us a special wash to use, to help keep the wound clean. Ellie is now curled up in the crate, snoozing with Angus.

Speaking of teeth, does anykitty have any experience with an undershot/overshot jaw? Tillie's lower jaw has developed with quite a clear deformity- it is shorter than her top jaw. This means that when she closes her mouth, her bottom canines are behind her front teeth, when they should be in front.

I'm keeping a close eye on her mouth, as from what I understand, there is the risk of a wound occuring on the top of her mouth caused by the bottom teeth. There is a good chance she will have her bottom canines removed when she is desexed.

I think our vet loves our family!

Feets!

It has been said that the way to a woman's heart is a pair of shoes. For little Ruby Bunny and Tillie Tuxedo, this certainly seems to be true. When their Uncle Andy was staying, both girls went mad for him, and in particular, his Converse AllStars.
Ruby in particular was smitten with his choice in footwear!

Calvin Bunny is getting better. He is still very thin, but his poops are improving, and he is developing a better appetite. He seems to have decided that he is part of Stella's family- he will regularly have snuggle time and sleeps with the babies, and Stella has taken to cleaning his face after meals. He is a funny Bunny!:)

P.S. Neville was at our house in yesterdays post because his mum and dad had some people over, and their house was a bit cat un-friendly for the day. Mum was going to be home with her parents and brother anyway, so Nev came over to hang out for a while. We stayed upstairs, and Nev was downstairs.

The Problem With Scheduling Posts...

Is that Mum forgets to put up our Easter post!!!

I spent Sunday on the lookout for the Easter Bunny. Fui thought this was a great chance to have a bit of fun at my expense. He set up a red herring early on, with his great big bunny feet. But he didn't trick me for long!
He even got the Bunnies in on it. Can you believe them, they even tried disguises! Tillie was also supposed to be a distraction for me, but with the combined silliness of her and her mentor Fui, they got a bit confused.
My toad of a big brother made one last attempt to trick me, before I decided to call my mission quits.
He is such a pain! We used our pocket money to get dad an Easter egg. Fui got him a bunny dressed as a policeman, and I got him a Charlie Chick. He gobbled them up toot sweet!
We also have some big news to reveal soon- the names of Stella's babies. They were chosen today, and suit them well, if I do say so myself. On the name note, wasn't it appropriate that the Bunnys got the family name they did! The Claus kittens had their names deliberately chosen as being Christmassy, but the Bunny name was a funny coincidence.
My family and I hope that you and your families had the loveliest of Easters:)

Girly Sunday

Sunday is a good day for revelling in our girly femininity.
My coat is looking nice and shiny, don't you think? I like to hang out with the waterbowl. It can be nice to look at my reflection. You get two Rubys for the price of one in this photo!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend:)
Love Tillie and Ruby.
