Pipi Saurus-Rex

This little lady is from our second official litter. She came with her brothers James Bond and Charlie Brown, and Trixie. Her name is Pipi Saurus-Rex.
She earned her surname by being a bit of a tyrant! She was a bit of a scaredy cat, and a bit of an enigma. She would occasionally fly off the handle at both human and kitty alike. Tom Kitten stayed well clear of her!
She had a beautiful coat. Mum is still not sure what it is called, but the people at the shelter called it velvet colouration. A beautiful chocolate colour came through the black in the light. Pipi was the only kitten we had who had anything like it!

While Pipi could be a bit of a skitty kitty, she could also be a silly billy. Here she is blowing raspberries at nobody in particular!
Pipi was adopted soon after going back to the shelter, but things didn't work out with that family. After about 10 days, they returned her to the shelter. She spent another fortnight up for adoption, before finding a new home with a young couple that the fostering boss at the shelter said was absolutely perfect for her.

I also wanted to tell you that Suey is doing much better. She seems a lot more comfortable, and her litterbox trips have reduced significantly. With cystitis, the bladder gets inflamed, and urine makes it hurt. So when her body produced urine, she immediately wanted to go to the box so it wasn't stinging her. It is very good that she is not feeling that bad anymore.

James and Charlie

This little lad here is James Bond. He was a suave, smooth little boy with a ready made suit.
This is his brother, Charlie Brown. He was a sweet, goofy baby mancat.
I decided their post should be together, as they so often were. They really were inseperable.
They were very daring, James the most of all. Charlie and Pipi would often follow at a safe distance while he got up to his crazy adventures.
They thought I was pretty cool. I like to think I taught them a lot about the fine art of hanging out.
Both boys found happy Forever Homes. It was nice knowing you guys!:)

P.S. In addition to introducing a little tuxie boy, I have good news about a little tuxie girl. Tillie is in her Forever Home!:) Enjoy it, little girl! You sure have earned it:)

Hide!

The second litter of kittens we had were three siblings we called . Pipi Saurus-Rex was the little girl of that litter. She earned that name because she was a little bit of a crazy girl. We now know another kitten ready to be inducted into the Order of the Rex!
Tillie Saurus-Rex! She spends her days pestering the other kittens (or teaching them patience, as she puts it).
Look out! She's coming!

We Are Home This Christmas!

I'll be home for Christmas;
You can count on me.
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree.

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love-light gleams.
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams.
-Kent, Gannon and Ram.

The Softies

Pipi Saurus-Rex, Charlie Brown and James Bond were three littermates, from an oops litter. When I brought them home, they were very timid, Pipi especially. Pipi was a medium-long haired little girl, who looked to have some kind of exotic in her ancestry. This was less obvious in the boys, who also had shorter hair. Pipi's colouring was velvet, Charlie was grey and James was a tuxedo.

Pipi was named after the nickname of K's baby (Fui and Suey's foster mum). She was by far the most timid of the three, and it was a great pleasure to see her come out of her shell, and become more outgoing. Charlie and James were very happy little boys. James loved being involved in everything, and was very clever. He loved to try and climb our screen doors, while the other two watched on in awe. We had the three for approximately three weeks.

We were told that James was especially popular with some of the volunteers who came to the shelter. A group of people from a facility for intelectually disabled people would come to sit with and play with the kittens, to keep them well socialised, and James loved playing with them, and running to them when he called his name.

Charlie found his forever home on the weekend he went into the cages, James found his two weeks later. Pipi had a false start with a family who decided they couldn't keep her, but is now with a wonderful family who take excellent care of her.
