Monday Memories

This is our little angel Seamus O'Kittenhead. We were thinking about him today.
He was a darling boy, and we love him a lot.

Favourite Foster Foto Friday

Seamus O'Kittenhead (ginger), Jimmy Blossom (silver tabby), Poppy Blossom (tortie and white). and Fuifui Moimoi.

Tonight, my namesake is playing in a really important game for the Parramatta Eels. It is the second week of the finals, and Parra must win against the Gold Coast Titans to progress.
Go Fui!!!!! That handsome photo of me was taken while I was watching Fui play against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons!

Harry, Ron and Hermione continue to do well. They love their Snugglesafe, and spend lots of time keeping toasty right ontop of it.All three still have tightly closed eyes, but their ears are starting to unfold a little. Harry is putting on some great weight. We just love the little gray splotches on his head. His umbilical cord came off yesterday.
Hermione is also getting bigger with every hour. You can see here that their claws are not yet retractable. We found a great feature on www.purrinlot.com where we were able to put in the estimated date of birth (we said Monday the 14th), and it gives you a personalised calendar for when different developmental milestones should be occuring. Over the next five days, their eyes should start opening, and this weekend their ear canals should begin to open.
Aren't Ron's ears gorgeous?! They are little pixie ears at the moment. He went for a check up yesterday afternoon, and the vet is happy with his colour and hydration levels. He still doesn't eat a lot, but is still gaining weight, albeit not at the rate of his siblings.

P.S. When mum used Google images to get a photo of Fui, on page two there was a photo of me from last years Halloween contest, dressed as a Flower Fairy! How embarassing!!!!

8 Things!

Our friend tagged us for a meme, to list 8 random things about us. I put myself forward for this meme, because I am brave and not a baby shrunken cat. So here they are!!

1. I was found in some bushes. My siblings were sold at a market, before I was left at the shelter.

2. I love Jimmy Blossom. He is my idol and hero, and I copy him as much as possible.

3. I have cute little stripes and cute little spots on my furs.

4. My eyes were blue when I moved in. Now they are green.

5. My foster mum thinks it is hilarious to call me Seamus O'Kittenhead. Because then I would be Irish. Or something.

6. Poppy has decided she is my mum, and likes to keep me clean. She is a real little lady, that girl.

7. When I moved in, I couldn't drink from a bowl very well. After 2 days, I was a pro. I learned from copying Jimmy and the girls.

8. My foster mum says I have lots of guts. When I first moved in the Blossoms didn't like me too much. But I wasn't put off. I kept trying to play with them and cuddle with them and eat with them, and now they accept me as one of them:)

I also have to tell all of our friends something. I can be the spokescat because I am probably going to be living here for Christmas. We are sending Christmas cards this year. If you would like a snail mail card, please send us your snail mail address, to fui_and_sueyAThotmailDOTcom. We are also working on making an e-version of our card. If you would like to recieve our e-card, please email us at the above address. We don't want our friends to feel spammed!:)

Have a beautiful weekend, whatever you are up to!:)

Milestones

Generally, we have the fosters until they are over a kilo, which is the weight at which the shelter will desex them. Sometimes the ones who need a bit more socialising will stay a bit longer.

This last weekend, Jimmy Blossom reached a kilo. The girls weighed in at 900grams. We wait until the lightest of the litter is over a kilo, then send the litter back together. At the rate they are gaining weight, we think they'll be ready next week.

Baby Seamus reached 500grams! His cold is clearing up. He is still a bit sneezy, but his eyes are looking really good now. He is such a brave little boy, and is getting along really well with Jimmy. When they were crated on Sunday while their room was cleaned, the two boys spent the whole time cuddling. It was very sweet.

Our wonderful friends at were kind enough to give us this lovely award.

It came with a guide for passing it on:

All the Business!

Our mum has been crazy busy, but she promises that she will help us catch up with all our friends over the weekend.

In the meantime, we would like to offer this video of young Seamus (who has a cold!) having his last bottle before he was completely weaned.

We would like to ask our friends to join with us in purring for Lux, Moki and Sissy, Maggie Mae, and all our friends who aren't feeling the best, and their families too. We are thinking of you guys, and sending lots of love and healing healthy purrs!

A Partial Absolution!

Hello to you on this fine day! Do you know why it's fine?

Because I have been absolved of this!!

It was this little baby kitten here! He will try to trick you with his cuteness, but don't believe it. He is a peeing machine.

And guess what else!!!! Guess who else has been caught in the act!!

This little ladycat here, who goes by the name of Holly Blossom!

And to think I've been copping the blame all this time. That makes me the scapecat. Shocking.

I'm New!

My name is Seamus. I am very small, probably about 4 weeks old.
You can see how much bigger the Blossoms are than me. They look like giants in comparison! I am still a wobbly walker, and need to be fed milk still. My foster mum says I am light as a feather. I still have my blue eyes, too.

A lady found me and my siblings in some bushes. She thought we would be a good way to make some money, and took us to sell at the markets. I was the only one who wasn't sold, so that same day she took me to the shelter. Talk about some changes in the life of a baby mancat! I have been in foster with a lady who is a vet nurse for the last week, and today they decided I should be in a home with other kittens.
My foster mum is sad to think of my siblings. I needed a bit of extra care this last week, and will likely need bottle feeds twice a day for about another week. I'm still learning how to get around properly on my wobbly legs. She hopes that they made it.
We would like to say that we hope everyone takes a moment to remind their friends and family that it is important to be careful when aquiring a new feline (or any other animal or bird or fishie, for that matter). People don't always have the best interests of the animals at heart, and will not be looking out for the customer, either. This woman didn't care that we weren't ready to be adopted out into homes yet, especially ones that weren't aware or prepared for baby kittens. Whether someone is looking for a purebred kitty, or looking for a moggy in pet shops, newspapers and adoption centres, they need to be careful about who they chose to give money to. This woman got money for us. She benefitted, even if we didn't. And there is nothing to stop her doing it again, unless people refuse to buy from her.
On a happier note, I think Jimmy and I are going to be friends:)
