I had to hide under the couch for the duration!!!
Fui doesn't fit under the couch, so he just lay next to it.
He's a good brother.
And thunderstorms are not good! (I have my 'grrrrrrr at thunderstorms' lasers on).
When the clouds finally went away, we got to high five for Temptations.

Mum was over-compensating, and we finished the jar. Yum yum yum!

Sam got to meet her saviour, David Tree. They are not sure if Sam recognised him or not, but given how close she let him get in this photo, and the knowledge that koalas are notoriously unfriendly, we think she did. The lady behind them is Colleen Wood, Sam's carer. She believes that Sam would not have made it if not for Mr. Tree's kindness. You can read more about Sam and Mr. Tree's reunion here.

See how much better Polly is looking! She has a ways to go still, but we're making progress!:) Her sister Sally is next to her, and you can kind of see the difference in size. Polly hit 550grams (1.2 pounds) yesterday, while Sally is just over 800grams.
Do you remember the koala video we posted yesterday? This is how Sam is looking now. Her paws are burned, but they think she will be ready to go back to the bush in about 6-8 months. For now, she is being cared for by the Southern Ash Wildlife Centre.

We are just amazed at how willing she is to get close to people! This is a wild animal!

Sam has made a friend at the Centre, too. Over the past couple of days, roughly 20 koalas have been brought to the centre, along with kangaroos, possums, wallabies and other native animals. Within their own species, koalas are very sociable, and pair up quickly when in the same area.
This is Bob! He arrived at the centre a couple of days before Sam, and the two have become firm friends. Look at him keeping a protective paw over her! :) Bob also has burns to his paws, but they are less severe than Sam's. He should be ready to go back to the bush in about 4 months.

The Herald Sun newspaper is selling a still from the famous video as a fundraiser for the CFA, for AU$20 a copy. If you are interested, you can purchase a copy here

Yay for Sam! Looks like she's got her date lined up for Valentine's Day...
That nice man did such a good thing. My mum cried when she watched the video a few days ago.

We agree that thunderstorms are to be hidden from!
Thanks for the updates on Polly and Sally, and also Sam!
Your Pals,
Tom and Tama-Chan
Colleen Wood? David Tree? Are you sure those are their real names?
Anyway it's great to see Polly getting healthier. She'll be as fat as Fui in no time.
And of course you're as brave as ever my girl.
Give mum and your brother a kiss for me.
Love Dad
Thanks for dropping by to look at my sister Noodle's kittens and Indie's too! Just 2-3 more days and my sister Isis will have her's and I'll have kittens here to play with once more! :)
Koala's a so cute!

I love the fact that Fui can't actually fit under the couch, but stayed beside it. How cute.
We were just reading on the internets about Sam, and how the footage may have been filmed before the fires. I am glad he got rescued though, and we hope that some of the wildlife can return to normal soon.
Have you had any sunshine yet?
We cried when we saw the video. Mr. Tree was so wonderful to help Sam out. We arepraying for all of those animals in the burned bush!
ps - Thanks for the positive thoughts for my Mommy
It is so cool to see Forever Dad commenting! Polly looks so tiny. Please Polly, keep on eating, you are so sweet. Come on: One bite for Siena, one bite for Chilli, one bite for...
The Koala looks so cute we stole the picture (for a little fun post). You'll see.
We gave you an awardie!

There was a news story about Sam on our local station yesterday. We were so amazed and our hearts just went out to not only Sam but all the animals (and humans) who were hurt or lost their lives.
Polly sure is a cutie pie!
We are all in love with little Sam and so glad she is on the mend. We hope you are all safe over there.

The little Koala touched our hearts - we are so glad it is recovering ... and so sad at those animals that didn't make it and who suffered. It is tragic.
Awww what a sweet story and I love the photos.I would have hid under the couch too I don't like thunder.
P.S. Thanks for entering my contest.
I hate thunder too.

I usually hide under the bed from thunders, too! You know how to do the High Five trick real good.
My eyes watered a little bit to see poor Sam's bandaged paws.
Momma cried while watching the story of Sam on TV.. and she was lucky.
Polly do not worry, I is only a little guy, I was half the size of my litter mates and still is just a little dude, but as far as everyone knows I is as healthy as an Ox, haha not as ugly though :P
That is a great story about Sam! We hope they release Sam and Bob together since they are such good furiends now.
And Fui and Suey, we hate thunderstorms too! They make too much noise!
Suey,we love your laser eyes!!!!!
We do not mind thunderstorms, because we do not get very many!! Thank goodness :)
We love the video of the Koala Sam :) It was so nice to see wildlife getting help and we are happy she is in care! Good thing she will have to stay there as the forests have burned and we guess she will need to be relocated ;)
Purrs Mickey,Georgia & Tillie
I don't like thunderstorms either.
I heard about Sam last night on the news~! That is so so touching~!!!!
Fui is such a sweet brother to lie next to the sofa to keep you company as you hide from the thunderstorm. You two are very talented to do high fives for treats.
