Victor's Meme

Oh man oh man oh man! It is summer here, and when it's summer in the tropics, you get the thunder! It is Not Good at ALL! I have to hide. Fui is crazy, and looks out the window with his "who is that making so much noise in my front yard?!" face on. But I hide.

Remember, I am the smart one!

In honour of 's 2nd birthday, we are taking part in a meme he suggested. This is it:

Victors Birthday Love in
So because I am a little ball of love made corporeal I figured That you guys always hear my stories of conquest and loving.. I would love to hear yours. There is no real rules, just hear a story of seduction or love, hooman or furry baby,(hey I need new techniques).

My story is about my mum and dad.

In 2006, my dad had been training for aaaaages, and mum hadn't seen him since January. They found out in July that he was going to Timor, but they didn't know for how long. Dad had to be in Sydney for training for a week, and then was supposed to be in Townsville for a few nights before he would be deployed. So mum seized her chance.

She couldn't get a direct flight from Wellington (where she was staying with her family), and had to stay the night in Brisbane. Mum and Dad were both supposed to arrive in Townsville on the same afternoon, and spend a couple of days together. Just after she got to Brisbane, she found out Dad would only be in Townsville for one night, because he was being deployed from Darwin now.

Mum arrived in Townsville at 3.30pm to a surprise from Dad- he had tickets for her to Darwin, too. That night, they stayed at their friends house. 12 hours later, Mum went with Dad to the Army base to drop him off (he had to fly to Darwin with the Army). She got to go home for 3 hours sleep, then returned to the airport. She had to fly to Cairns first, then continue to Darwin. She got there at about 6pm that night.

This is Neville, the kitty who lives at Mum and Dad's friend's house. We have met him!
Mum and Dad got to spend the whole night in the same city that night! The next day, Mum knew that Dad was a good egg, because she puked and fainted on the same day, and he didn't even get grossed out! They went to a crocodile park, and saw some jumping crocs. Mum still has the reciept from the lunch they had- a New York steak for him and a chicken sandwich for her:)
These are some of the jumping crocodiles! Look how high they can jump!
Mum was supposed to go to the airport to catch the flight to Sydney, but guess what! They fell asleep and slept through the alarm! Dad was deployed the next morning, so Mum went straight to the airport. She got there at 10am and had to wait until midnight for her flight. That was not a fun day! Mum flew to Sydney, then on to Wellington back to her parents. On the way back Mum caught the flu. She didn't get out of bed for the next week. But she wouldn't have changed those couple of days for anything:)

Happy Birthday, Victor! We hope this is to your liking:)

What a lovely romantic story. Thank you for sharing it. Your Dad definately passed the good egg test there!

Suey, I agree about the thunder, it's horrible, we get it in winter sometimes too here, it's worse here late summer, we all hide under the beds.

Happy Monday!

GRRRREAT story!

Your People are very busy and traveling a lot and it's good that they have good moments together.

I'm with you on the thunder, and commend your intelligence for hiding.

Paws 'n Claws,

What a great story ... and thanks for the map because that is far far away and I stay inside, so it's hard for me to picture sometimes.

Great story - lots of plane travel there.

Yes, I so agree with you about the thunder and the storms. We are not in the tropics and we get them as well. Had one everyday for the last 3 days. I snuggle with SS when that happens. I hate noise in my yard.

You do look quite freaked out in that picture. We hope the storm and thunder goes away soon. Chilli isn't allowed outside but I have experienced strong wind when outside.. It made me all nervous and I was meowing.

What a wonderful romantic story. That's a very long flight your mom took to spend time with your dad. Despite the puking, fainting, and flu, it sounds like it was completely worth it. Your dad sounds like a very good egg.
