We finished our quilt on time for K's baby's birthday. We were very happy with it. We followed the great instructions on
Millie's mum's blog,
The Patchery Menagerie. The instructions we used can be found
here, although we did it slightly different. We made a big square out of nine pieces, then cut that into four. We followed the rest of Millie's mum's instructions after that.
This was our first attempt at quilting. It was a really cool feeling to have made something for a gift, rather than have purchased something, and we would recommend it to anyone who felt like trying:)

Pawesome job! Mom use to quit years ago, but ran out of time in the day. It is lots of fun and very rewarding. The gift of something homemade is always SO appreciated!
Mom used to quilt - not quit... sheesh.
This is beautiful!!! Can't believe it's a first attempt.
Good to see there are more Aussi kitties in the CB. It used to be just Pablo in Hobart, the TCR girls in Canberra and Charlotte in Sydney.
Hi Foster, that is a very pretty baby quilt. Our Sunday school class makes baby quilts for poor mothers who have babies at our local hospital. We do between 25 and 30 a year. There is also a basket with diapers, a layette, powder, washing things, etc.
Thank you for peeking in at Amber (cat) and for your nice comment.
Happy WW!.

Wow you guyz!! That is a first attempt?!

Very nice. I'm working on a baby quilt for a friend (so far I just bought the materials). :P I've made two rag quilts before - this will be my first "real" quilt.
That looks beautiful!
That's a lovely quilt. The embroidered names and the time, thought, and effort that go into making it by hand make it an especially thoughtful gift.
Awesome! It looks great! I am so honored to have inspired you. Thank you for posting pictures for us all to see.
