Evie is a beautiful little girl we are fostering. We estimate her age to be about 3-4 years old. She is a Devon Rex, and we think she is probably purebred, because she has the signature curly coat. Evie is pregnant. She is approximately two weeks away from giving birth. As far as I'm concerned, the longer she can incubate those babies, the better. When Evie arrived, she was underweight and flea-ridden. She was bald around her neck, thinning along her spine, and had a bald patch on her head. The longer she has to get strong and healthy, and the longer the kittens have to grow inside a healthy mum, the happier I'll be.
Evie is settling in really well. She has lived with us now for 10 days. When she arrived, she was quite a scared young lady. We have been doing the best we can to help her feel safe and cared for. She is slowly learning that a quick movement does not mean she will be hit or kicked, and flinches less often. Evie is very much a cuddler, so much so that I refer to her as the Lovebug.
It is Evie's desire to be cuddled and her calmness while being groomed that makes me feel she has lived in a home where she was treated properly at some stage. She was dropped off at the shelter by some losers, but I'm sure someone else had her before that. I would love to find out where she came from. Evie is not chipped, and is obviously not desexed, but she does have a tattoo in her right ear. It is 'Cb'. I have been trying to trace this tattoo and see if I can get some clues as to where she may have come from. There aren't a lot of Devon breeders in Australia, so hopefully something will come up!
