Because we are being abandoned! The humans are going off for 'grown up alone time' before dad goes away! How selfish. We thought we could convince them to change their mind.
First, I put on my handsome face.
But it didn't work. So I got Suey to be cute.
When her 'cats pajamas' look failed, I knew I had to bring out the big guns.
My tears failed to move them though. We went for a different angle:
First we tried sister whappage.
Then we tried brother whappage.
Then we tried wanton acts of vandalism.
All that did was get us on treat restrictions. Stupid humans.

Oh man that is rough, being abandoned. We hopes your beans has a nice break and do some relaxing together. Does you have a sitter or are you carted off to cat prison?

What a bummer, being abandoned at this time of year. However, your Mum will come back all refreshed an happy after having some time with your Dad and all will be well. That's a wonderful cat tree you have there!

We do not like it when Mom leaves us. However, we have realized that it is nice of us to give Nana and Grampy a chance to spoil us once in a while, and Mom usually comes home missing us terribly! It's Win-Win.
You know.. I have no idea why these things did not work.. I mean wow! It worked on my Momma! And anyways is you not both family as well???
Are you at least having a kitteh sitter or are you off to a holiday of your own?

Wow, you guys are pros! We don't like getting abandoned either. There are too many of us for kitty jail, so we get a nice sitter. When mom and dad come home we turn our backs to them (except my momma Ellie who can't do that sort of thing).
Those are some very impressive efforts. I can't believe it didn't work. At least you have your wonderful new cat tree to play on to keep yourselves occupied while they're gone. Maybe you can try some super cute or pathetic looks to convince them to lift the treat restrictions before they leave.
Oh that's tough! Must say you tried hard. One of those bummer days when nothing works, :sigh:
