Fun on Friday
Gus thinks Lishy is very interesting, but that doesn't stop him running around like a crazy kitten with his tail all poofed up. He likes to crab walk across the room, then sprint off in the other direction.
Benny thinks Fui is just about the coolest cat on the planet, and follows him around intently. Here he is checking out Fui's collar. He's looking forward to being big enough for one of his own.
We've got a big weekend coming up. When we first came to the shelter with our mum, the only empty foster home was our foster mum's. She was only scheduled to be available for the next five weeks, because their house was then going to be invaded by family for the wedding. The shelter called my foster mum to see if we could stay with her for five weeks, when they could make sure another foster home was free to take us. Tomorrow morning we will make the trip back to the shelter, and tomorrow afternoon we will make the trip to our new foster home. Mum will stay with us until we are weaned off at 8-10 weeks, then she will go back for her desexing and adoption. We will go back in when we are over the kilo mark.Tuesday, November 9, 2010
Tortie Tuesday
The boys come down in pairs, and I come down on my own because I am such a brave girl. We come down for short 5-10 minute periods so that our mum doesn't get too stressed out, and will start stretching it out as we get accustomed to it.
I love exploring down here. There are all sorts of new sights and sounds and smells. Lishy totally adores me, and we are becoming fast friends.
He even thinks I am ready for some wrassling practice! He is a good foster brother, and is very gentle. He told me that he used to be as little as me, but I don't really believe him. He is way bigger than I am!
I'm off for another play now!Love Lily.

The Fabulous Five on Friday
Here is my brother Jonathan showing how we are getting better and better at eating real food. We're even starting to have a munch on some crunchies. Milkbar time with mum is still our favourite, though.
Behind Gus here, you can see one of our litterboxes. We are using them really well! Yesterday, our foster mum saw little baby #2s in there for the first time! (sorry if that's too much information. Take a look at Gus's baby blues if you need to take your mind off it).
I hope you have a fun weekend. I think we will spend it running around and being a little bit crazy!Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Tortie Tuesday
She loves having alone cuddles with me. While she was having an extra snack with me, do you know what my boys were doing?
They were all hanging out in the litterbox! My babies are three weeks old now, and are growing up so much. They have started to use the litterbox on their own, which my foster mum gets crazy excited over. They are also much more mobile and are starting to totter around strongly.
Now that they are toddling about more and more, our bathroom has had a bit of a re-design. My foster mum has set up the kitten fence to restrict the area my kittens can wander in, while I still have access to the whole bathroom.
Now, it's dinner time so I'm off to have some noms! :)Monday, October 25, 2010

Wednesday Weigh In
All five of us babies are putting on weight, and our mama is losing it! Lewis is the heaviest of my siblings, and Lily is the lightest. Our mum is enjoying all sorts of foods, including kitten formula to get some more fat in her, lots of crunchies, rabbit patties, and chicken stew flavoured Innova Flex. Mama likes to lick all the gravy off the chicken first, which my foster mum says the resident kitty Fui does too. Last night she got some sardines, and she went crazy over them! There is some funny graffiti close to the shelter I was in when I was a freshie.
There are a few of these kitties around Newtown, the suburb the shelter is in. The area is supposed to have one of the highest densities of real kitties living there in Australia.
I think that the silver and purple tabby is nearly as cute as a little ginger one :)Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Thoughtful Thursday
Because I am a youngster and have been under a bit of stress, my foster mum has been weighing my babies so that we can make sure they are getting enough food and are putting on good weight. I supervise closely to make sure that my foster mum gets the correct readings. This is me helping her to weigh my baby girl Lily.
Lily is my special girl. She is a tortie just like me, and is the smallest of my babies. We like to have snuggle time together, and sometimes I will bring her out of the plastic container my babies have as a bed into my squishy bed, but leave the boys behind!
As well as my squishy bed and the plastic container I sleep in with my babies, I have another cardboard box that I like to rest in. It's good to have options.
I have to get back to my babies now! See you later :)Wednesday, October 13, 2010
The Boys Have Names!
This is Lewis.
The little black and white boy has been named after Suey's special friend from Catster. This is Benny.
Gus continues to grow healthy and strong.
Lily does too.
All five have opened their eyes now, and are much more active. Dahlia has found her voice in the last two days, and has some nice chats with mum. The little family is settling into life in the kitten room very well. Tuesday, October 12, 2010
We have been trying to upload some videos for the last couple of days. Hopefully, this one will work! Momma Ellie, we hope you like the air kneading :)
If you are interested, this link has a preview of the photos that Tanya Tindale came and took of us. There is one photo of each of us. We had a fun time with Tanya. Even Suey came down and spent some time posing! Lishy was a little freaked out by the noise of the camera in the beginning, but quickly warmed up. A play with Da Bird certainly helped! As for me, I was smitten from the moment Tanya walked through the door. At one point she was lying on the ground taking some pictures of Lishy and I wandered over and started sniffing her hair and licking her ear!
I think I was quite the natural model, if I do say so myself:)

Monday Munchies
The love their milkbar time, and line up together.
Dahlia enjoys feeding time too, and will purr away and knead the air as the babies have their dinner.
Dahlia is getting through the kitten food like there is no tomorrow, but we can't blame her with five mouths to feed!

Snuggles on Sunday
She really seems to enjoy being a mummy, and is taking great care of her babies.
Dahlia has been eating and toileting really well herself, too.
Tomorrow, the lady who is taking mum and dad's wedding photos is coming to take photos of us! Mum is looking forward to having some photos that show Suey's colouring clearly, as it's hard to photograph.Have a happy week :)

Introducing...
and her batch of beautiful babies.
Only two kittens have names so far, as we are yet to confirm genders. This is little Lily Sparrow, who looks just like her mama.
This is Mr. Gus Sparrow.
The dark kittens are the first ones to start opening their eyes.
Dahlia is settling in well. She is very friendly. The people who brought her in didn't think cats that small (we think she is still a youngin' herself) could get pregnant. When Dahlia started getting bigger, they thought she just had worms. Dahlia gave birth in a dog kennel on the Monday night, and her sister gave birth in the same kennel on the Tuesday. That same day they were taken to the shelter.
Dahlia's sister is in foster care with another lady, and is doing well.
We are looking forward to getting to know this little lady and her family.

I'm going to be as big as this?!
