Do something good today.

We have two very important petitions to share with you. One was pointed out by Gandalf and Grayson, and the other by Molly, Shadow, Troo and Jake at The Misadventures of Me.

The first is against the support of Puppy Mills by Petland, despite assurances that they know their breeders. The Humane Society of the United States is hosting a petition to tell Petland that it is not on, and we will not shop in Petland until this practice stops. Scary facts: puppy mills don't care about inbreeding, methods to restrict the spread of genetic illness and weakness, flea and worm treatments, proper nutrition, or shelter from the weather. Many breeding mum's don't even have names. You can find the petition here.

The second is a petition hosted by Care2, sponserd by M.A.R.S Safe Haven. It is to ask the United States Military to repeal General Order 1A, which enforces the killing of cats and dogs befriended by servicemen and women. You can find it here. No buddy left behind. That sounds good to us.
