Monday Munchies

There are a group of doves that like to hang out in the tree in my courtyard. They are big and fat a juicy looking.
They never come down to play with me. I don't know why.

Dear sweet Fui, it is so good to hear from you again. Those doves know exactly how 'playing with you' would end so they are content to watch you from a distance!! Our sparrows, doves and blackbirds do the same.
Lots of purrs to you and Suey and Lishy.

We can't imagine why, either! Odd, but the birds in our tree don't come down, either!

Maybe you need to offer them some snacks or toys? I'm sure they'd come play with you if you had some bird toys. Don't you think?

We keep encouraging our mom to put out more birdie food in the feeders...so they get so fat they won't be able to fly. Then they'll play....

Fui, a guy can dream, right?

Silly birds! You just want to invite them for a snack!

Fui....try putting out some bird seed in the yard. Perhaps they will come and play with you.

And, we are very sad to annouce that Louis Armstrong, one of the first cats that adopted our mama after she lost four in Hurricane Katrina, went to the Rainbow Bridge last Thursday. She came home and found that his little kitty soul had left his earthly body. He leaves his sister Emma Barrett and the rest of us New Orleans Kitties. Louie was only 6, and since he was part Maine Coon the vet said it may have been a heart condition. We know he is up at the Rainbow Bridge playing with the foster kittens you all took in but left this earth much too soon.

Sad Purrs,

Fui, we don't understand why they don't come down for a visit, either. Very rude! :)

It sounds like the doves might be a little shy. I have a feeling you might have to make the first move. Perhaps you could invite them for...uh, I mean "to" dinner.

Fui, we have a pair of fatberds coming to visit our garden and they make us chatter more than the average birdie. We SO get how you get the munchies when you see them. One day... one day...
