Terrific Tuesday

This little girl came to us in November 2009. Initially we thought she was a boy, so we named her George. Later on she became Georgie.
Due to where and how she was found and the timing, we think the chances of her being related to Lishy are extremely high. Georgie's brother Freddie was found at almost the same time, and 4 weeks later a kitten we think is their sister, Luna was found. This is Lishy checking her out, in the same container he lived in at Georgie's age.
Right from the beginning Georgie was a clever, spunky little girl. Lishy's litter had been very fragile and there were a lot of near misses, and Freddie also had his share of problems. Not Georgie. She was tougher than a newborn kitten on her own had a right to be! In order to tell her apart from her brother when they were tiny, we gave Georgie a food colouring dye job. In this photo you can see the last tinges of her pink mohawk.
She was the first in her litter to use a litter tray, lap up formula on her own, and eat solid food.
Lishy adored Georgie and her siblings, and fancied himself as their surrogate mum.
Georgie was the first of her litter to be adopted. She went to a really lovely family who have been kind enough to stay in touch and let us know how she is going. Almost every other kitten we have fostered has gone through a shelter, so most often that is where their story as we know it ends. Georgie is the only kitten we have seen pictures of as an adult.
On her second Gotcha Day last month, Georgie (now Luna)'s mum sent us this picture of her beautiful girl. She said that Luna is the sunshine of their lives, and she fits in with their family perfectly. She is great friends with her older brother, a Meezer named Joker.

We were so happy to see how well things have turned out for this lovely little girl.

Wonderful post! We remember those other photos, and when that whole litter was so precarious. We are delighted Georgie (as was) is doing so well, and yes there quite a resemblance to handsome Lishy!

It must be so rewarding to know your fosters have gone to a loving home and are well - particularly since they appear to have swum in their food while with you. I still send my Sam's "birth family" updates and it's been 4 1/2 years! I think they appreciate it, you know? :)

Wow - she grew up to be lovely. We knew that when she was little it was a struggle to keep her growing. Well done Lishy family, you did a great job.
