Today we want to send lots of love to a very special dog named Herbie, who went to the Bridge on Monday. He was a very special working dog who helped to keep soldiers and civillians safe from explosives. Herbie was also a huge morale booster, as everybody loves a happy pup, and he reminded the soldiers of being at home. Herbie was killed by the Taliban along with his handler and another soldier.
Thankyou for your service, Herbie. We hope to meet you one day at the Bridge.
P.S. Our mum made an unfortunate typo in yesterday's post. She should have said that Alice is NOW fighting fit.

We are sorry to hear about Herbie and his handler and the other soldier. What a great thing they did...giving their lives to protect ours...
We're so sorry to hear about Herbie and his fellow soldiers. We're thinking about all of them - and sending purrs and good thoughts to their families and friends.
No worries about the typo. We figured it out!
So sad about Herbie and his handler. He will get quite a welcome at the Bridge. That's certain.
Oh, we are so sad to hear about Herbie, his handler and the other soldier. We know he will get a hero's welcome at the Bridge. Purrs and prayers to their families...
That is so sad but he did a grand job while he was alive. What a super thing for a dog to do and I bet thaqt Herbie loved doing it.
Glad to hear that the eye is better.
Hope all of you have a good day.
Oh Herbie what a great dog you were to help out like you did! We know that you must have been welcomed like a hero when you got to the bridge. We are sending out purrs and prayers for his family and friends!
And we are glad Alice is now fighting fit - we figured that if it was "not" it was mainly an issue of her being tired and achy after her surgery (we didn't think it woudl be serious without you mentioning it) and needed a day or two to recover.
So sorry to hear about Herbie and the soldiers; he is a hero, running free at the Bridge...There are so many truly bad people in this world, it's scary=no nice words, only negative thoughts about these evil people, sorry...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
We salute Herbie, what a hero.
Hope he's running free and guarding us from the other side.
Our hearts go out to the family.
Purrs JJ and Jinx
Run free, Herbie!
Bajas, Virus and Hyssy!
A hero at the Bridge! We would like to join you in paying tribute to the soldiers and Herbie for their sacrifice in the line of duty. Their families are in our thoughts and prayers.

Run free at the Bridge, and in Heaven.
We salute Herbie for the wonderful work he did. The soldiers and Herbie are our heroes. Our prayers are with their unit and the families of the soldiers who died in the blast.
Herbie probably tried to protect his soldier to the very end. We salute you, Herbie!
We're so sorry about Herbie. He sounds like he was a very brave and special dog.
I'm usually not a dog-loving kitty, but Herbie was special! I'm glad you honored him here.
I was devastated to hear about Herbie, and the soldiers of course.
Herbie is a true Hero!
It's always so sad when a four legged friend leaves us.
Warmest thoughts,
xo Catherine
That is so sad. Herbie is running free now. Our thoughts go out to those soldiers' families. It would be nice if this whole affair could finally settle down.
How sad hope he has fun at the bridge.
This just broke our hearts.
Run free and happy dear Herbie!
Oh Herbie! Thank you for your bravery and your sacrifice. Thank you to your human companions too. A terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with your loved ones. May you all find peace and happiness on the other side.
