Hi ladycats and mancats!
We realised yesterday night that our post wasn't very clear. The superawesome savvycat cat run was not one piece of furniture that Train's people purchased. It is an Ikea hack that her parents made! Isn't that cool! The sides are two sets of shelving units, positioned either side of their computer desk. They made the run out of off cuts, and then covered it in carpet. They even made a ledge for her to jump up from. We are very inspired.
We love Ikea hacks, where people take a piece of furniture and modify it to what they want it to be. While it seems that Ikea Hacks are the most common, we are sure pre-pack furniture from any place could be modified in such a way (or even furniture from more expensive shops). Two of our favourites are from Ikea Hacker. We think they've also been on ModernCat (a website Daisy pointed out to us the other day- thanks Daisy!).
We got these pictures from Ikea Hacker. Mum thinks it is funny that so many of the pet hacks on the site are for litterbox hiders.
We like the way storage space has been created in this one for all the little things that you use with litterboxes. The lady who made it used cutlery holders!
The pawprints on this one are super cute, we think. It also looks like it would be easy to clean.Mum is looking for some projects to do, because we just found out dad is off again next week, this time for two months. Now that we are indoor cats, we'll be able to keep her company more, which is good. On the indoor transition, we are still being really good. Fui had an opportunity to get out the other day, and he didn't take it. Of course, the tradesmen in the house probably helped stop him, instead getting him to turn tail, but mum is choosing to think he is a very good boy. MOL!:)

haha Momma would love to get one of those neat boxes to hide and organise our litter, but she gotted a purpose built enclosed litter box and we would not go inside and use it... Though she did have our regular one out also "incase".
That sucks about your dadda! I hope that the time away goes very fast, I am sure it will :)

I am sure your mum must have done woodwork at intermediate school, and could hammer a plank between two bookshelves!! Sounds like a great set of blog posts about making a cat run is coming up.

We wish we had some cat furniture! That all looks so neat!
Wow those are some stylish litter boxes! I should show these to mum.

What fun ideas! We once saw a house where the Mom & Dad made cat shelves all along the walls and ceilings with cat holes through the wall into the next room. There were all sorts of fun things for cats to do, and the cats never even have to walk on the floor if they don't want to!
Those are realy cool ideas! With 8kitties, we have way too many litter boxes to hide like that. Mom does have a hiding place for them...she calls it a "laundry room". Ha!
We're curious to see what kind of project your mom does...with your help of course.
I'm glad you are both adjusting so well to the Indoor life!
I wish my Mommie was handy so she could make some cool stuff like that.
WE are so glad you are adjusting. We know it is hard, but you want to be safe!
Those litterbox covers are so cool!! Some beans are very creative!! We hope your folks come up with some neat ideas for you two so you can run around on the furniture and not get into trouble ,heehee
It would be fun to be up high and look down on your folks. It would make them nervous ;)

Very clever!
Have you seen the over-the-door cat snoozers/runs that Petco sells? We want one of those! Mommy saw them a few months ago.
Ikea hacker stuff has been on Moderncat a few times, Daisy's right.
What a cool hack. I love Moderncat too. It's a great website. Hope all you kitties have been doing well. Take care, and have a good week :)
Great looking litter boxe containers. We got a giant plastic storage container with a hole cut in the side. It works great but not as pretty as those.
