I was a little braver with the snakes here, because I was seperated by the glass. By the way, this might look like two snakes, but it's not. It's one really really long snake!
I got to meet the three elephants who live at the zoo. They have a gigantic day enclosure, and six different paddocks they can spend the night in. They also have their own water hole, and they go for walks each day around the zoo. They looked really happy. In this photo, the elephant is using big thick ropes to scratch her back.
Here is another of the elephants using one of the big huge piles of dirt to give herself a dust shower.
This little fella here is one of the cutest sights of the day. He is a red panda, and one of the keepers said we were really lucky to see him out of the tree. Something cool that the lady noticed was how active the animals seemed. Lots of them were running about the place, when she was used to seeing them pretty still. That's it for part one of my trip. I'll show you some more cool sightings tomorrow!:)

I'm sure they all were out and running since they were having a celebrity visitor!

Marty, you are very brave!
Be careful you don't get too close to those elephants, Marty...you don't want to get squished!
We share your relief at having glass between you and the snakes, Marty!
Your Friends,

To My Pretty Suey:
Glad to see the posts. Hope you and Fui will be back with your parents soon. When we moved back in November, 2007 it was only five miles from where we were living in the FEMA trailer. You and Fui are so brave to travel as far as you are!!
Whikser kisses to my Pretty Suey

That looks like a fun trip. Our mom's favorite Zoo animal is the elephant! That is a really big SNAKE!.
We too love the late great Steve Irwin! It looks like you had a fabulous trip to the zoo. I'm not sure I want to be that close to a big snake, even with glass between us! eeeks!

We had not heard of a red panda before ;)
