How about carry on luggage? Mum? How about that?

That was not the fun part of my Friday. The fun part is this Wunderful Wubba!
I have been wrassling it, bunnykickin' it, chomping on it and flicking it through the air. It makes jingly crinkly sounds that make me wild!
We had lots of fun choosing some toys, and today our special package arrived.
At first, we were distracted by the wonderful crunchy paper that was in the box! Boy did we have fun wrassling in that!
This is the great haul that arrived for us- a new wall mounted Cat Dancer to replace the one Lishy has been destroying, a Kong Wubba that we have heard so many good things about, and a Da Bird toy with a couple of replacements which we have been hoping to have a turn with for a long time.
We have been running ourselves ragged playing with Da Bird all afternoon! It's been such wonderful fun. We want to say a gigantic thankyou to Rumbles, Inigo and the lovely Rumblemum. They did a marvellous job fundraising during the contest, and we can say for sure that Rumbles is our Next Top Cat Model :)
There was a problem though in that the collars are made to fit necks of 20-30cm (8-12 inches). For Lishy, we needed a collar that would fit a much smaller neck. The lovely Alison made a collar especially for the wee boy, of 12cm (4 3/4 inches). It was the teeniest collar I have ever seen. At the time of ordering, we had been warned that Lishy may not even make it long enough for the collar to be delivered.
As Lishy continued to defy the vet's prognosis and grow, we have been letting the collar out. It is now 22cm (8 1/2 inches), and wont go much bigger. On Wednesday, I had the exciting experience of ordering Lishy a new regular sized collar.
Today marks 11 months that Lishy has been living with us. He is showing no symptoms of anything other than tiring fairly quickly when he plays. He has been microchipped, fully vaccinated, desexed, and keeps up with the big cats, all things his vet said he wouldn't be capable of. I would like to say thankyou so very very much to all the people, kitties and pups who have commented, purred, sent emails and suggestions, and sent their love out into the world for our boy. I really believe that in addition to his tough spirit, all the positive energy that was aimed at Lishy has helped him get to this point, and I am so very grateful for that.
He is an extraordinary wee boy, and we are blessed to have him in our lives :)
The Rubble boys on their last night at our house. Barney is giving his best "you woke me from my nap" glare.
We had a good time at PawPaws. It is a bit different to other boarding facilities in that we are allowed out of our runs, and if we are comfortable and well behaved are able to interact with the other kitties there. Fui and Lishy made some good friends and did lots of playing, but I chose to keep to myself and got loving from the lovely Morgan instead.
Mum was worried about me as I developed a nasty case of cystitis last year after staying at the boarder and flying down to Sydney. Morgan kept a close eye on me and gave mum an up to the minute litterbox report each time she called, which was very good for mum. When mum picked us up, she got to see how we were behaving before we noticed she was there. Lishy was being a little monkey on the cat tree with his friend Chai, Fui was sitting inside a big bird cage playing with a wand toy, and I was writhing in a sun puddle. We need to go back to the boarder in a month when mum abandons us again, so she is very happy to have found one we seem happy in.
