Freddie's Weekend

Hi! It's Freddie Weasley here. I am going to tell you about my weekend. It was FUN! Now that it's just me left from Team Kitten, I am spending most of the day out of the crate. I just go in there for food and overnight. Because I am so well behaved, I am even allowed to run about in the house when my foster mum isn't home! I don't know if you can see behind us in the photo, but there is a fence around the tv. That is because Luna liked getting behind it and pulling the cords out. I don't do that because I am not a tricksy girl. I spent lots of time with my foster brother Fui, learning all about being a big strong mancat.
I discovered a fun toy called a track. I am intrigued by it, and spend lots of time trying to free the ball from the tunnel. So far, it is still trapped. Suey is also being a good teacher, because she is teaching me about boundaries. I am being a good boy and not annoying her too much. She even gives me nose kisses, which my foster mum says she reserves for very special kittens. When I sleep, I purr a lot. It is a very loud, rumbly purr. My foster mum recorded it as her mobile ringtone. Once she can figure out how, she is going to help me post it on the blog so that you can hear what I sound like:)
I hope that you got to have a fun weekend too:)
Love Freddie.

Happy Gotcha Day, Luna

Luna Boo has found her Forever Home. She spent her last morning in her foster home play play playing. First, she played with the track ball. Then she wrassled with the Christmas reindeer (and looked at it dismissively). She had a break for a nom with Suey. And climbed Mount Cat-carrier. Have a happy life, Luna. We love you!

Hello ladies...

How handsome am I?!
I am starting to really settle in as Fui and Suey's little brother. I still drive them bananas sometimes with my PLAYPLAYHEYWHATISTHATCOMEONWHYDONTWEPLAYWITHIT attitude to life, but I am also learning the value of quiet time. For the last couple of nights I have snuggled up with my sister and my mum in bed and not tried to bite either of them! When Fui jumped up for a cuddle this morning, I gave him a head rub before I socked him (just before I got pushed off the bed...).

P.S. Our dad is ok, he just went away again so we like to send him smooches with our posts.

Profiled

Boris and Gracie's comment the other day about using Luna's 'RRRAWR' pictures on her profile got us thinking. On PetRescue.com.au, we could only upload two pictures per kitten. We needed a way around this! So we used Picasa to make a collage, and uploaded two collages each. We made sure there was a big picture in one of the collages to use as their main picture, so it would be easily visible in the thumbnail search results.
We like that it lets us show more sides of the kittens. So far, it seems to be doing it's job. There is a man coming to meet Luna on Friday morning, and it sounds very promising.
Paws crossed someone will come and meet little Freddie soon, too. Yay kittens:)

Monday Maturity

Hi kitties and woofies and everybuddy in the blogosphere. It is Lovely Luna here. I have something to show you. This weekend, I grew into my face! This is a picture of me a week ago. I still look like a baby. This is me this weekend. I look a lot more grown-up, if I do say so myself.I am recovering well after my spay surgery. My wound is a bit bigger that Georgie's was, as I had a different vet, but I am not letting it slow me down. My foster mum keeps seperating me for a rest, as I am so intent on wrasslin' with Freddie and Lishy. It is FUN! I hope you have a fun week!
Love Luna.

A Quiet Day

While Luna and Lishy were away, and Fui was snoozing upstairs,
We hung out.

It was nice.

I'm baaaaa-aaack

I am home safe and sound after my day at the vet, where I had my bits snipped. After the cruel and unusual starvation mum put me and Luna through, I have spent the evening catching up on my nomming. It felt very good to have the feel of food in my belleh again!I've also been having some big cleans to get the smell of the vet off me. Luna was a very good girl at the vet, and had a successful surgery. Freddie also came along today, to get his next vaccination. It was like a swarm of white kitties at the vet today! We went to see Dr. Second-Opinion, who mum really likes.

Here's to a less eventful weekend!:)

Uh Oh

Do I look a little bit unimpressed to you? If so, I have good reason. I am going to the vet tomorrow, and I wont be coming home until I'm two bits lighter. Luna is also unimpressed, because she is coming too.
Not cool, mum. Not cool.

Rawr

That felt good! Thankyou very much for the wonderful advice we received about Freddie. We learned a lot from your comments, it was great. The Blogosphere is such a good resource.
Love Luna.
P.S. Did you see my tiny teeth? My foster mum thinks they are adorable!

We Need Some Help

Hi kitties. It's Freddie here. I have some news.

Over the weekend, it has become apparent that I am deaf. My foster mum has never looked after a deaf kitty before, and is trying to learn as much as she can about it. She has read about training and using hand signals and wants to start teaching me before I go to my Forever Home. That way, they can continue the training rather than starting from scratch.

Are there things that potential adopters should be made aware of in terms of my care? I am already only being offered as an indoor only kitten due to my colouring, so obviously that will be even more so now.

We were hoping that there might be someone with a bit of experience with deaf kitties who could offer us some advice.

Thankyou so much!
Love Freddie.

Lishy's Big Weekend

Hello everybody! This was a big huge massive enourmous gigantor weekend for me. Saturday was my Five Month Birthday and today is my Five Month Gotcha Day. For my Five Month Birthday, I went on a special trip to the vet. It was to see Dr. Second Opinion, a lady recommended by my friend Greta.

Guess what! I got a really good result from Dr. Second Opinion. She said without some really expensive imaging, she can't give me a totally clean bill of health, but that except for being small she can't find any obvious problems and I look like a healthy kitten to her! She also said I was well enough for my microchip and vaccine, which I had yesterday. She also said there is no reason not to desex me, so I will be going in very soon.I had a celebratory meal with my brother and sister when I got home. It is good that I can be desexed now, because I am closing in on Suey's size and my mum didn't want an intact male running around upsetting Fui. So that will be my next big adventure.I got two special presents for my Five Month Birthday. Greta gave me a white mouse who looks just like me! I also got made official. Can you see the badge on my collar? Today I got made the Official Sheriff of Kittentown! Those kittens are Not Allowed to argue with me now.
This was a very happy weekend for me. I hope it was happy for you too:)

Georgie has Left the Building

Today was my Gotcha Day! I was picked up in the prettiest of pink carriers. I also have to show you something my foster mum is very impressed with. It is the scar from my spay surgery. Can you see it? I'll get a bit closer for you. The vet who did my operation is a specialist in microsurgery. The scar in on my side, and it is teeny tiny. It's size means it was a less invasive surgery, and I will recover much quicker. Hermione also had the same tiny scar on her side. It was the first time our foster mum had seen the scar on the side, and the first time she had ever seen one so little!I also have some fun news to tell you. My new family really liked the name Luna for a little white kitten. So that is going to be my name!I was also a milestone kitten. I was the first kitten adopted that had the Suey's Safehouse logo on their paperwork. My foster mum is very much a Photoshop beginner, but she was happy with it. The kitty is from a photo of Suey. Foster Mum's friend Greta (the lady who saved Harry, Ron and Hermione from the blue stuff on the day they were found) has suggested adding some paw prints to the bottom, so she will work on that over the weekend. Thankyou for being my friends!:)
Love Georgie.

. Talk about KYOOT! We love it!:)

Tetchy Tuesday

Quarantine banned my Casbah Kitten beans. We loved the toys we received from Grrreta so much that mum ordered me some more. Only this time, they didn't make it past those big spoilsports.

I will sit her gazing out the window and think of what might have been...

My News!

It's Georgie here! This is an exciting week for me. I am having my ladygardenectomy this week, and then on Friday I am going to my Forever Home! I met my new family on the weekend, and they are very nice. They are from Germany! I am going to have a big brother, too. He is a Siamese named Joker.

Freddie is also having his surgery this week. Luna is not going to for a little while longer, because she is a little girl.

I told you it was an exciting week!:)
Love Georgie.
