The Return of Moimoi!
My little sister has been getting far too much face time on this blog of late, at the expense of me! So today, I am back!
I am testing out a special toy mum got. It is called the 'Safe for My Cousin' toy.
My cousin is three years old. He thinks I am the bees knees. He likes to play with me, but is not used to kitties. So a lot of our usual toys have great "smack the kitty in the head" potential.
This toy is fabric on a string. It's easier to use without involving head smacking.
We had a big practice session, and I gave it two paws up.
It is now riddled with claw holes, which is the mark of a fun toy.
This one doesn't leave feathers in your mouth when you chomp on it, either. That is a good thing, especially after witnessing the 'Chase Suey so she doesn't eat the feather' debacle of a few days ago.

Solving Problems with Suey Sunshine
I have a problem. It is a big problem. It is this. My mum made this. It is a fabric portrait. It is supposed to be me. Dad put it best when he said it looked more like the child of a koala and an ewok. Do you like my Harry Potter zigzag above my eye? MOL!
Mum's happy with Fui's, except for the surrounding fabric. Next to him, I look even worse!! So the time has come. I instructed mum to make a new one.
It looks promising so far.
Come on, lady!!
This is the new finished product. Torties are hard, I guess. I'm missing my cream foot and the milk spill on my chin, but it's a better likeness. I have one of our old collar tags on it, with a bell.
The problem of having to look at the old one has been solved!

Boxes
Oh, hi! This box used to be where mum hid our toys when it was time for them to be put away.
I outsmarted the box though, and they are now in a much stronger one in the cupboard.

The Mom Meme
Daisy and Harley let their Mommie do a meme on Wednesday. It was the Mom Meme! Fui and Suey thought if Daisy and Harley could let their Mommie have the blog for a while, they could let their Mum have a turn too. Woohoo! These were the instructions:
Either (1) post 7 facts about yourself AND photos OR (2) post 10 facts about yourself with no photos, OR (3) post a childhood picture of yourself.
My family lived in Fiji for my first years, and this was my first Father Christmas. Note the fan aimed at him!
I fell in love with my favourite food group early on.
School picture day was a great excuse to fit as many baubles in my hair as possible.

Thankyou, Fui and Suey!

Good Help is Hard to Find...
and we ain't got none! Our mum has been hopeless this week! I knew this would help kick her into blog-action though.
Suey and I largely ignored our Purrfect Angle when we first got to Sydney.
This week, however, I have been ripping in! It is really quite satisfying.

This is my favourite sleeping position. It's a little bit exhibitionist, but it's so comfortable! What is your favourite way to sleep?Monday, July 20, 2009
Mum's Phone
This is the wallpaper on Mum's phone. Am I cute or what?!
I like to call this photo 'Fui- Busted'. Look at him trying to lick mum's toast! And to think he has the audacity to say it is me who is naughty, because I am a torti!

I'm happy to admit I am a little bit silly, though. This is me playing a game with mum, or as she calls it, 'Stop Being Such a Pain and Leave My Pen in Peace!'.
I hope you had a day of sunshines:)

Quiet Time
Hello:) We have been having a bit of a quiet time since dad left. Mum's been feeling pretty flat, so I've been making sure to give her lots of extra cuddles and loving. We've been cooking up a few ideas (Fui and I are key in mum's creative process!) and are hoping to put a couple of get things moving along over the next couple of weeks. Given how much I love to be a help, a roster of projects is very exciting for me!:)
Fui and I both earned ourselves a new piece of bling! In conjunction with our name and number tag, we have a second smaller one that says "I Am Lost" on the back. Mum is hoping it will be an extra level of security if we ever run out of the house. She is paranoid.
We also wanted to warn people to be very careful with the security of their computers. We have an antivirus program and a firewall on our computer, but managed to get infected with what is called a 'misleading application'. A fake window for 'AntiVirus 2010' came up showing that we had lots of infections, and a bubble popped up from the lower right corner. The fake scan then asks you to buy a licence for the fake antivirus program. It also sits in your computer trying to download other files. One of the bits that was downloaded onto ours opens up new Explorer windows for obscene sites. It was tricky to get rid of, and took quite a while. We are now doing an overhaul of our Internet security. Mum thinks it initially got on the computer when she accidentally clicked on an add in a craft blog she reads.
If only the people who write these programs focused their energies in a positive way!
I hope you have a happy week:)

A Bit of Bad News
The hard part of being a foster mum is when things don't work out. The lovely Miss Tillie has been re-listed for adoption.
It turns out she was not adopted, as I had believed when she was removed from the adoption listings. The shelter was hit by cat flu, and Tillie caught a dose. She went out on foster until she had recovered, and is now back waiting for her Forever Family to find her.
The dear little girl has been in the shelter for such a long time now. Knowing what a star she is, and how much more she deserves, it is very hard not to pick up the phone and get her flown down. If only we were living in our own home, and not depending on the permission of others!
Sweetheart, we love you. We are sending you the biggest, deepest, rumbliest purrs that we can muster.
Because of the cat flu, any kittens on foster were kept out of the shelter until the outbreak had been dealt with. Ellie and Angus are both still on foster, and will probably stay out for another week or two until the shelter is good and clear. We are looking forward to seeing a photo of them now they're growing up!:)
