Visitors
It's been all go at Casa Sunshine-Sausage-Moimoi. First Daddy came, then mum's parents and brother came, and then, came someone very special indeed.
I would like to introduce you to Mr. Moth. He came inside caught up in a sheet mum had taken off the washing line.
Here you can see Fui trying to high five him. He must have thought that the moth carried treats (we will high five mum for treats).
Do not be fooled by his play dead look here. After a couple of minutes, Mum scooped Mr. Moth up and helped him back outside. She was amazed that though we had been chasing him around (and he flew into the ceiling fan twice!) there was no damage to his wings. He flew away into the moonlight.

Feets!
It has been said that the way to a woman's heart is a pair of shoes. For little Ruby Bunny and Tillie Tuxedo, this certainly seems to be true.
When their Uncle Andy was staying, both girls went mad for him, and in particular, his Converse AllStars.
Ruby in particular was smitten with his choice in footwear!
Calvin Bunny is getting better. He is still very thin, but his poops are improving, and he is developing a better appetite. He seems to have decided that he is part of Stella's family- he will regularly have snuggle time and sleeps with the babies, and Stella has taken to cleaning his face after meals. He is a funny Bunny!:)
P.S. Neville was at our house in yesterdays post because his mum and dad had some people over, and their house was a bit cat un-friendly for the day. Mum was going to be home with her parents and brother anyway, so Nev came over to hang out for a while. We stayed upstairs, and Nev was downstairs.

Ham-micks and Interlopers
Guess what! I have a real, genuine, Dorfington Fish-Stanley Quality Assessed Ham-Mick! It is was made by the wonderful folks at Forty PawsAnd I love love love it. We got two, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Mum is yet to get a photo of Fui in one of them, but he has had a jolly good snuggle in them.
Do you remember that floofy hussy Neville? He has stepped up his attempts at snaring mum's affection, and came to my house! Can you believe the cheek?! Not only did he come to my house, he tried to take over my carrier, with my platypus and Fui's monkey rattle! He was only here a day, but you mark my words. It was one day too long!

Boris & Gracie, and the New Orleans kitties Emma Barrett, Pete Fountain, Charmaine Neville, Louis Armstrong, Buddy Bolden and my sweetie, Benny Grunch have stopped by. Benny is the mancat I made this card for on Valentines Day. Hi guys!:)

We Will Remember
Today in Australia and New Zealand, we mark ANZAC Day. On this day, we pause to remember the men and women who have fought and died for our countries. If you would like to read more about ANZAC day, you can click here to visit the ANZAC Day Commemoration Committee(Queensland).
To our Daddy, we love you, and we are very proud to have you as our Dad.
Each has won a glorious grave - not that sepulchre of earth wherein they lie, but the living tomb of everlasting remembrance wherein their glory is enshrined. For the whole earth is the sepulchre of heroes. Monuments may rise and tablets be set up to them in their own land, but on far-off shores there is an abiding memorial that no pen or chisel has traced; it is graven not on stone or brass, but on the living hearts of humanity.
Take these men for your example. Like them, remember that prosperity can be only for the free, that freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it.
-Pericles
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them, now and always.

To our Daddy, we love you, and we are very proud to have you as our Dad.

Adopted
After a week of departures and crossings, it was great to receive some positive news.
Little Polly Smitten-Kitten found her Forever Home. I thought there must have been some kind of problem, as I had not seen her on the adoption listings. I was mistaken! She went up on the listing late on a Friday night, and by Saturday morning, there had been several calls about her. The shelter does not put kittens on hold on the phone, as they want people to meet and spend time with the kitties (and dogs) to try and make sure they are a good match. As one of the callers was on their way to the shelter, another couple picked Polly out. The caller arrived as the couple was filling out her paperwork. The caller then proceeded to try and fight the couple for Polly! Needless to say, the caller did not leave with a new family member that day!
Meryl was adopted on Sunday. She went home with a lady the adoption coordinator said was one of the loveliest people she had ever met. We think they will be a good match:)
The adoptions of Polly and Meryl mean that all the Smitten-Kittens and Oscars have found homes. Hooray:)
We took Calvin in for a vet check today, as he didn't seem right. His gums were a little pail and he is not carrying as much weight as he should be, but otherwise the vet believed he was ok. He didn't have any worms, eggs, blood or other nasties in the poop sample he graciously offered in the car on the way to his check up. The vet believes his tummy enzymes are a bit out of whack, and that is making him feel a bit sick. We've started him on probiotics to try and help him out, as well as re-worming and treating him for coccidia, just in case. He seems brighter already this afternoon.

Daisy
The decision was made this morning to euthanise Daisy. She was beginning to deteriorate, and the vet didn't feel there was much we could do.
I didn't want her to wind up in the same situation as Pablo, and chose to end her suffering.
Ellie and Angus both passed their exams, and the vet doesn't believe they should have any problems. Stella also passed her health check, and tested negative to the things they can test for.
Have fun at the Bridge, Daisy darling. You and your brother are loved, and will be for the rest of time.

Sad
Earlier tonight, Pablo was helped to the Bridge.
He suddenly went down hill very quickly, and the vet gave him a tiny chance of surviving the night. I couldn't prolong his pain.
Be good at the Bridge, little boy. We are sure the Blossoms, Seamus, Dancer and your brother Elijah will be there to welcome you, and show you all of the wonderful places they have found.
Daisy and Stella have an appointment in the morning. At the moment, Daisy is ok. However, her body condition is the same as Pablo's, and the vet believed he was very underdeveloped. I am not looking forward to the appointment. If you could spare any purrs, I'd be very appreciative.

The Million Paws Walk
The RSPCA is holding the Million Paws Walk again this year. It will be on May 17th. Australian woofies can register here. If you don't have a woofie, or would rather not take your woofie for any reason, it is still worth visiting. There are fun events and competitions run at the different locations. Last year, mum enjoyed the display from the prison dogs, and seeing all the woofies dressed up for the event. To find an Australian location near you, click here.
If you're an Aussie kitty or kitty lover, we recommend having a look:)
Our grandparents and uncle are staying with us for the next week, so mum doesn't have much time to help us visit. If we seem a bit absent, that is why:)
But guess what's even cooler! This year, for the first time ever, the Million Purrs is being run! And it's all from the safety of your own home! It allows kitties a chance to join in on the fundraising fun. You can register here.
As part of registration, you get to make your own kitty avatar. We could only make one, so decided to make a composite of the two of us. So we made a female silver tabby, only the tabby pattern is little love hearts! Suey insisted that our kitty Hope should have pink shoes, too.

If you're an Aussie kitty or kitty lover, we recommend having a look:)

Ruby Loves to Play
Hi! It's Ruby here!
I found a really fun collar to play with! I'm sure it was left out there just for me. If you don't want to watch me, you can watch Alias in the background. Sydney and Vaughan are getting their romance on!

If I can find it, be it hanging, crinkling, waving, or just generally there, I will try to get to it.
As far as I am concerned, toys should be mandatory at all places.

Life is Grand
Hi! It's Stella! My sweet friend Nigel, Cory's brother, gave me this wonderful award!
The rules for accepting this award are simple:
1. You hafta give 5 reasons why you think life is grand.
2. You hafta pass the award on to 5 more blogs.
1. Having such good friends makes life grand! Thankyou, Nigel!:)
2. My babies got to come to a home environment almost as soon as they were born. They aren't having to grow up in a shelter. By the time they are ready to go up for adoption, kitten season should be over here, meaning their chances for a great home improve exponentially.
3. The four of them are growing into strong little kittens. Their eyes and ears are open and clear, their teeth are coming through, their claws are starting to retract, and they are getting more and more co-ordinated all the time.
4. Fancy Feast in my bowl each night- need I say more?:)

Where?
I think the mug is tricking.

Yay Fui!

Do you think we can learn by osmosis?
